We are a modern Hostel located in the beautiful Rockies. We offer dormitories and private rooms set up for a exceptionally comfortable stay. Located in the Shops of Canmore, we are perfectly situated close to so many great amenities and a quick walk to downtown!
Great hostel. Everything is really well thought-out: lots of kitchen supplies and fridge space, clean bathrooms, comfortable beds, convenient lockers, a shelf and ledge in each bed, etc. The common space is great for relaxing and chatting, with beautiful views of the rockies.

Hang out with new friends in our games room.
This is a clean, well-run hostel. Staff are friendly and helpful. Everything is clean and they observe quiet hours at night. Good hot breakfast included. Centrally located - a 5-min walk to the airport bus. A 15-min walk to sights like Stephen Ave or Calgary Tower.

Welcome to town! The new HI Jasper hostel on Sleepy Hollow Road is now open! Our newest hostel is a short walk from downtown Jasper and designed for today's backpacker, with shared rooms for four, private ensuites and family rooms. Don't miss our on-site café!
We were on a quick tour of the parks from Edmonton thru Jasper/Banff with skiing at Sunshine. Stayed at the hostel for 1 night. The hostel is very modern and comfortable. Reasonable walk to main street and ammenities. Very clean rooms! Friendly staff! Shared bathroom between 2 rooms. Cafe and very large/modern kitchen for self cooking. Elevator for mobile challenged. Pool table and lovely lounge area to hang out. As a hostelling experience goes this was great! Free parking as well and lock up area for equipment although we just transferred to the car overnight.

We are Calgary's newest and only independent backpacker/youth hostel. We are striving to create the best backpacker accommodation in the area by offering such amenities as: The closest possible accommodation to Stampede Park/Saddledome (it's across the street). Free Breakfast, free parking, free long-distance calls to over 40 countries, free WIFI, free internet computers, movie nights projected on the common room wall. Hostel planned events such as pub crawls, floats down the Elbow River, ski trips to Olympic Park, Bike and Golf club hire, Hotel quality pillow-top spring mattresses, Hairdryers /straighteners for hire. But most importantly, we strive to create a great atmosphere where you can have fun, meet great people and have an amazing adventure with us here in Calgary.
Stayed at this Hostel due to reviews and ported photos. I have stayed in many hostels...europe USA etc. I had a much different experience than some posting on this site. Positive notes- parking is available on site and free. Gentlemen at desk helpful. Walking distance to plenty of restaurants and bars. Not so much- bathroom old dirty and not taken care of. -Bathroom Requires paint and good cleaning -bathroom door did not close properly -floor in hallway damaged -Rooms small offer only small cabinet or secure items measured 8 inches wide 12inches high -no USB port in sleeping area -no curtains around bed Based on my experience and price of $40 would look for other accommodations. -

A great urban hostel located right near the action in Edmonton’s historic Old Strathcona area, including Whyte Avenue, the coolest spot for shopping, pubbing, clubbing, live music, live theatre, improv, comedy, indie films, and the Saturday year-round Farmers' Market. Only a few blocks from the beautiful River Valley with its relaxing hiking and biking trail system & we rent bikes. Our private courtyard is complete with BBQ and picnic tables.
Private room was decent size, clean & tidy as were the shared bathrooms. In comparison to other HI hostels I’ve stayed in it just didn’t have the same charm. No breakfast included and only small parking area. Only stopped overnight before flying out of Edmonton so served its purpose

HI Nordegg Shunda Creek Hostel is a favourite for hikers, climbers and mountain bikers. Located in the heart of the David Thompson Corridor, this four-season destination provides the perfect setting for individuals, families, groups and outdoor enthusiasts seeking exceptional recreational opportunities. The area offers some of the most diverse scenery, flora, fauna and history in the Alberta Rocky Mountains. You can visit the Siffleur wilderness area, Abraham Lake, North Saskatchewan River, Kootenays Ecological Reserve and so much more. Take a short drive on the Forestry Trunk road and you're in a whole other area. You can take the Forestry Trunk Road north to Edson Hwy 16 or south to just west of Cochrane Hwy 1A. But be aware this is a graveled highway and can be rough at times. HI Nordegg is located just out of the Banff National Park, so you don't have to pay park fees. There is a whole lot of FREEdom out here.
Great to once again visit this clean, friendly Hostel with BBQ and fire pit. The Hostess Jennifer could not have neen nicer and more accomodating, providing stories and information about the region. Also, quick to respond to email questions. Great evenings with a view of the stars by the fire pit, with great conversation and camaraderie with the other guests enjoyingf nature as is common at a nice hostel. Showers, electric plugs, other amenities such as firewood were as expected. A friendly dog Lizzy and cat Booker were occasionally available for petting. Highly recommended, a great location.

HI-Athabasca Falls is an idyllic mountain retreat. Five cedar panelled cabins sit amongst the trees at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. The mighty Athabasca River tumbles over the nearby falls. Horseshoe Lake with its enchanting mirrored water or spring-fed Leech Lake make for ideal summertime swims. In the winter, wake up in the cozy hostel and get ready for a day of cross-country skiing on a groomed trail that runs up the Geraldine Lakes road, or if you prefer the thrills of the downhill, Marmot Basin is a short drive away.HI-Athabasca offers a large common room, wood stove, firepit and deck. The accommodations are comfortable but basic: simple bunk beds, shared dorms, and no running water. In the summer, there is an outdoor "cowboy" shower for those not willing to brave a morning dip in the river. No Internet, no bar, just the forest cabin that you always dreamed of. Nothing will get you closer to getting away from it all.The Fryatt Valley and Athabasca Pass are easily accessed from the hostel offering cross-country skiing, hiking, and mountain biking opportunities. This is a wilderness hostel with limited creature comforts - no running water, no showers, and no flush toilets. We do have purified water for cooking, a refrigerator, stoves, and solar-powered lights. Due to our wilderness location, accessibility for the physically disabled is challenging.
If you want to experience sleeping warmly in the wild this is the place. Ultra clean, well organised, amazing kitchen set up with loads of utensils and spices. Really warm at night which is very much appreciated. You even hear the Athabasca falls from there, and there are a couple of small treks available.

The HI-Kananaskis Wilderness Hostel is close to over 60 mountain biking, hiking and cross-country ski trails. Kananaskis Country is known for its plethora of mountain activities by day, while the Kananaskis Hostel is renowned for its relaxing rustic atmosphere by night. This is an ideal hostel experience for those who enjoy hot showers and clean indoor facilities as part of their Rustic atmosphere adventure. Get out of the city and get back to nature!
This hostel is in a great location for hiking or cross-country skiing. It is very clean, well equipped and friendly. The bunk beds are comfortable. The price is very reasonable compared to other accomodations in the area.
