The staff is very friendly and helpful. Sebastián is a great host. The location is also fantastic, very close to all the interesting places like the train station.

Good for a quick stop

We had 4 rooms and this was a good value for a one night stay before visiting Machupicchu. Rooms are modest, but clean. Free wi-fi and walking distance to shops and restaurants. Breakfast was ok, it consists mainly of breads, Jam, some fruit, tea and cereal. There was a massage place a couple of doors down were I got the best 30 minute back massage, definitely needed it after hiking, traveling and carrying my back pack. The best thing they did for us was store our backpacks while we went to Machupicchu. We picked them up after our visit to Machupicchu. Located next to the hot springs baths.

Professional Staff, CLEAN ROOM, VERY NOISY though....

Reviewed By stuntgal

Perhaps it'd be the same all over Aguas Calientes as most hotels are on the main street where people walk, stores open and close, and restaurants are bustling. I am NOT a light sleeper but found myself not getting ANY sleep after an all-day Inca trek and a relaxing massage, both of which should have just knocked me out. The windows are not air tight or double paned, which means you'll hear everything at the street level. The Staff was very professional from booking to arrival, even coming to meet me in person after my Trek. The hotel is a higher up from the bus station which is usually not a big deal, except after a long trek, so it's something to consider. BUT given how clean the room and private bathroom is, having not to share with strangers, for a fair price, it's something to consider. Perhaps, ask for a room away from the street? Oh, by the way, I had to leave real early on the first bus up to Machu Picchu, and they kindly left a breakfast brown bag by 4:30am so that I could be at the bus stop by 5am. Very nice of them.

The most Hostile hostel. the most evil people that I’ve met. Don’t Support Them!!!

Reviewed By Sadie G

I will start by saying that this is a place that I would never choose to stay. However, i was on a tour and had no choice in the matter. The rooms were freezing and unwelcoming. Check out is at 9. I was traveling with my tiny dog who is my Baby. The love of my life, my soul. We went to Machu Picchu early that day and my guide wouldn’t allow me to take her. I asked if I could leave her in a room but check out was so early. They told me they would be more than happy to watch her and keep her at the reception. I never trust her with anyone but I trusted my guides judgment and they were his close friends. I made her a bed on the couch with everything that she could need. We were only gone 4-5 hours. When we returned she was gone. They hadn’t even looked for her. They said she probably fell off of the balcony and drowned in the river. This is my 13 year old baby! They had moved her and locked her in a room with an open balcony that went out onto a slippery rain guard that went directly into the raging river. After I searched the town. I was devastated crying in bed. The Mom Alma, and her daughter Julia came and locked me in the room. They held me down in the bed while chanting and rubbing symbols into my forehead with oils. Trying to use sorcery to make me forget that they were responsible for the death of my beloved baby. They told me that it was meant to happen and that I needed to bless their house and bless their family. The gave me a pathetic gift like it would somehow relate to the only thing precious that i had in this world. They immediately took it back once I got the police involved to search for her. I stayed over a week searching the town in hopes that they tried to steal her or sell her or she got away. They were very suspicious. While everyone in the town was sympathetic and helpful. They were very evil. I can’t begin to mention the horrible nasty things they said to me. They threatened and cursed me. They told me they were angry with me for their negligence leading to the death of my baby. They threatened me and told me they were bad and Bad for me so I should watch out. They are horrible people. Please Don’t support their business!

In comparison with other hostels, it is an excellent option for people looking for a place that offers modest resting, good breakfast and helpful service. Which is enough if you're in a place like Machu Picchu, where walking outside the town is the best way to spend time.

Awful!

Reviewed By Jessica R

This hotel was a nightmare for us. We speak decent Spanish, but be aware no one here speaks any English beyond telling you the price. We booked through hotels.com and were supposed to pay at the hotel. We tried on our first day and their machine wasn't working so they told us to try when we checked out. We told them we needed to leave at 10:30 to catch the train. The main lady is apparently the only person that can use the machine. There is a useless younger guy that is very, very difficult to understand. He just kept telling us to wait for the main lady to return. We worried we would miss the train and didn't have enough cash so we left. We told him to contact us via the booking agency and we'd sort it out. Then the hotel contacted us that we had to go send them money through their bank. We couldn't just give them our credit card over the phone. I don't even want to explain how annoying of an experience it was to do this in a language we are not fluent in or how impossibly long the line at the bank was. This maybe took 2 hours to do. Then they wanted us to send them a picture of the receipt to an email address that doesn't work. They also called our current hotel and sent a guy(!!!) to our hotel to collect the money when we weren't there. On top of that, the hotel itself was a horrible experience. After Machu Picchu all we wanted to do was take a hot shower. There was only cold water and the hotel was completely incompetent about fixing it. It took two hours for my husband to take a tepid shower. Then when I tried to take a shower no water came out at all. More waiting and trying to explain. Finally I took a shower and the water kept changing pressure and temperature before turning to ice cold water. I gave up and went to bed. This hotel is super loud, so once in bed, I didn't sleep much. You can hear someone shouting, the loud soccer field across the street and every time a door opens and closes. They cleaned our room and left us without toilet paper. Oh, also, the wifi is a joke as the signal is so weak it can't be used.

Does not change the sheets! Avoid !!!

Reviewed By Mildred G

This place should be avoided at all costs! We were given a room that clearly had not been properly sanitized. The sheets and pillow cases were wrinkly and with hair ! Woman’s long hair on one side and short hair on the other!! So obvious that they skipped the changing the sheets! This was the one disgusting detail that stood out the most. I mean, we are still in the middle of a pandemic and yes many places are starting to open to tourism but if management of these locations we entrust cannot abide with the basic protocols than maybe these places should not be open. Management in casa machu picchu clearly does bot care about following basic hygiene or sanitation protocols. Nevertheless, for the health of the travelers that stay in their establishment. My advice to travelers is avoid this place.
