A place that invite you to experience the Gaucho Culture, tradition and local customs in a natural environment. Horse rides from half day to epic 10 days around the mountains! "Excellent horse riding place with good food and accommodation provided if required. Different levels of experience catered for"
I am currently on a solo trip through South America, and not wanting to leave Argentina without spending some time on horse back, I searched for options that fitted my itinerary (and budget). After sometime googling I stumbled across Sayta, It had excellent reviews so I thought why not. I was not disappointed. From the moment I arrived I was made to feel welcome: Don Enrique the owner of Sayta takes a personal interest in all of his guests, dining with them every night, whilst issuing wine, humour and life advice in equal measure. We rode out for 2-3 hours in morning and the evening, through some beautiful countryside. Lunch was usually an enormous and delicious asado (barbeque) accompanied by plenty of wine; come dinner, which was usually a homecooked local dish, you'd be lucky if you had room. The horses were all extremely calm and well-behaved, which allows complete beginners to safely come out on rides. More experienced riders are allowed to canter and gallop, while beginners are given a taster of cantering with one of the Gauchos accompanying them (if they want to). In short, I can't wait to go back. If you're in the Salta area you absolutely must pay Don Enrique a visit!
