February 16, 2022 Velvet Mowry

Lingering over pain au chocolat in a sidewalk café, relaxing after a day of strolling along the Seine and marveling at icons like the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe… the perfect Paris experience combines leisure and liveliness with enough time to savor both an exquisite meal and exhibits at the Louvre. Awaken your spirit at Notre Dame, bargain hunt at the Marché aux Puces de Montreuil or for goodies at the Marché Biologique Raspail, then cap it all off with a risqué show at the Moulin Rouge.

I hoped for a bit of a tour along the Seine, but there was NOTHING of the sort ... just long, hot, boring stops along the riverside. Take Batobus if you want transportation ONLY ... ‘cuz that’s all it is.

Yazid was a very friendly and informing guide. He gave us an unforgetable insight of the history of tour eiffel and also of other buildings which we saw from the 2nd floor of thr tower. As he also knew always the answer to our questions, he really gave us a value added to the eiffel tower tour. I would definitely recommend the tour and also with Yazid!

We traveled to Paris earlier this month and I bought a family day pass for Open Tour Paris. I paid 89 euros then we waited over 30 minutes for a bus. When we finally boarded, the code scanner didn't work but the driver saw the receipt in my phone email and let us ride. But then the bus went in the opposite direction from what was posted at the stop. We wanted to hop off at the next stop to change to a more desirable route, but we were going the wrong way! They posted the hours of operation on their mobile site, but the last run was not clearly indicated or explained. We learned that we were on the last run after boarding the bus, which meant it was too late in the day to easily make a route change. The bus driver spoke neither English nor Spanish so he was of no help. When I plugged in the earbuds for the guided recording, it was broken. I immediately emailed Open Tour Paris to request a refund. The next day, I received a refusal via email. I replied to ask if we could at least ride a different bus that day and that hopefully, the recording would work. No response. What dishonesty and a lack of customer service! Avoid Open Tour Paris like the plague and find a more worthy way to spend your hard-earned money!

Ignore Rick Steves and the other clowns promoting this stuff. This pass promises jump the line and easier entry into a ton of sites. It's kinda like a useless coupon book a high school kid might sell as a fundraiser. It gives one good place or two and the rest of the sites are not that good. For instance, we used it for the Louvre. Keep in mind there will be others with better tickets or advanced appointments. At the Louvre we were placed in a separate line while the other ticketed people went in before us. And they went in and went in and went in. Not so much for skipping a line. Buy the metro tickets separately. Oh and don't let the guys at the store tell you that you'll have an extra day with the attractions pass vs the museum pass. Nope. The aquarium scanned our card and we lost a day. We spent nearly $500 and maybe used $75 worth. The value is horrible.

We booked a 2-day pass for the bus and unfortunately only one of the three routes was available during our stay. This was not made clear during our reservation and we were very disappointed to not be able to experience Paris the way we had planned. We have since reached out for a partial refund, but have not heard back yet.

Where do I start! Moulin Rouge was exactly as I expected! Loved the entertainment and thrills during the night. We were advised not to eat there as the food is ordinary, so we ate in Montemarte at a pub which provided vegan burgers. My sister and I are not small people and the tables were tiny with little room at all, but all was forgotten once the show started. We recieved compkimentary drinks which was great and the company at our table was pleasant (6 to a table). The position of our table to the stage was front and centre and excellent to see everything. The company that organised the cruise and show were extremely unpleasant. We were staying less than 10 minutes walk from Moulin rouge so our hotel receptionist spoke with the travel group to ask if we could meet them at the show and skip the cruise as this would mean an uber in traffic all the way back close to the Eiffel tower just to come back to Montemarte an hour later. They said we must go to the office and collect our tickets if we want to do that and they could not send them with the driver and group, so we decided to go to the office and do the cruise as it seemed pointless otherwise. We were given strict instructions to be there no later than 6pm as the cruise would leave without us and we would miss out. We assured we were at the office on time spending 24.53 Euro on an uber in traffic. Once we arrived at the office we presented ourselves to the desk and my sister greeted the lady 3 times to be ignored to the extent the lady put her head down and hand on her face to not look at us. Eventually we were told to sit down and wait as the driver is 15 minutes late, and 1 hour later he arrived flustered and apologetic. By this time all of the people doing the cruise in this group had missed the cruise so the driver proceeded to take us the very long way back to Montemarte for the show. We felt very upset we had wasted our money on uber and time on waiting when we could have just met the driver in the first place! The service of the TOUR OPERATOR PARIS TRIP (41, Avenue de la Bourdennais 75007 Paris) was very poor and will never use this company again.
