We visited this place unexpectedly and were mist interested by the history of the sihk community in Woolgoolga, how and when they settled here. We learnt a lot about their culture and history and how they came to control a lot of the banana industry in the area and how they started the blueberry one here as well. The museum was closed on the day we were there but after a phone call someone came to open it specially for us to have a look and we are most grateful for that

Really lovely little museum. Well set out. It was good for kids. A little bit of everything (geological history, recent history, fossils, aboriginal history). Well presented for kids. A highlight was showing the kids how the volcano shaped the region with a big screen video which was really well done.

This museum should be on everyone's itinerary when they visit Port Macquarie. It tells the story of Port that has been so influenced by the bar across the Hastings River. The many stories are well documented and illustrated in two cottages that were themselves part of that history.

The Coffs Coast region has a rich and fascinating heritage. From Gumbaynggirr stories of spiritual connection to the land, to the stories of lighthouse keepers, pioneers, timber workers, gold miners and farmers, the Coffs Coast is a place of romance, bravery, adventure, tragedy, and amazing inventions! Coffs Harbour Regional Museum aims to bring Coffs Harbour’s history alive by reflecting the social and cultural history of the Coffs Harbour Region. The Museums primary, but not exclusive emphasis, is on developing collections and exhibitions reflecting the relationships between the region’s residents and the area’s maritime and hinterland waterways. This is a Coffs Harbour City Council Facility.
The museum was lovely, there was a great mini cinema that showed a film about the original cinema. The staff were very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. It's a free museum in a relatively small place. It can't be expected to be open 7 days a week.
