A crumbling maze of a city that rises from the ghats (steps) on the western banks of the Ganges, Varanasi is in many senses the quintessential India. With an ancient history -- Mark Twain famously described it as "older than history, older than tradition, older even than legend, and looks twice as old as all of them put together" -- it is also one of the most sacred cities in the world today. Kashi, or "City of Light, where the eternal light of Shiva intersects the earth," as Varanasi is seen by devotees, is the holiest of Indian pilgrimages, home of Shiva, where the devout come to wash away their sins. Earliest accounts of the city go back 8,000 years, and "the city of learning and burning," as it is affectionately referred to, has attracted pilgrims from time immemorial, not all of them Hindu -- even Buddha visited here in 500 B.C. after he achieved enlightenment, sharing his wisdom at nearby Sarnath.

Boating down the Ganges River during sunrise is one of the main attractions in Varanasi. Start your day with a morning boat ride at dawn.Varanasi presents a unique combination of physical, metaphysical and supernatural elements. According to the Hindu mythology, Varanasi liberates soul from human body to the ultimate. The Ganga Ghats at Varanasi are full of pilgrims who flock to the sacred river to take a dip in the holy Ganges, which is believed to absolve one from all sins. Watching people come down to river in the early morning, taking a bath in the mother Ganga, performing rituals. It is at the Banaras Ghat where we can see life and death together. After the boat ride, take a small walk in to the oldest part of Varanasi where is famous for its narrow streets. Stop by the Kashi Vishwnath Temple, also known as Golden Temple, and see the outside of the beautiful temple. Sarnath is also a great attraction of this tour as well. Later silk weaving center also can be seen.

Just 10 km away from Varanasi, lies the city of Sarnath. It is a pilgrimage center for the Buddhists and the Jains. It is famous for its ruins of Buddhist temples and stupas. It is considered to be the place where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon and led the wheel of time, enshrining his principles of teaching into laws. The site became a center of learning. Only a kilometer away from Sarnath lies, Singhpur, a village which was the birthplace of Shreyansanath, the Eleventh Tirthankara of Jainism. A temple dedicated to him is an important pilgrimage site. In this tour, you will be accompanied by a well-informed guide who will walk you through the ruins of the ancient monasteries, temples, and stupas of Buddhists and the archaeological museum. You will listen to narratives of the history of Sarnath, learn bout the philosophy of Buddhism. You will be picked up in an air-conditioned car from your location to Sarnath and return.

We were fortunate enough to find Aman accidentally whilst walking around Varanasi. He is a very relaxed and knowlegable guy and showed us the most amazing side of the Ghats. We went on Diwali which would usually be super busy but due to covid was much calmer. We hope to hang out with Aman whilst we are still in Varanasi as he is a great person to know in the city. Thanks again for everything!

You can try traveler friendly street food, take a prive sunrise tour of the Ghats and ceremonies, wander through the winding back alleys and old city, see the Aghori Babas and temples, and experience how spirituality is so deeply woven into the lives of the people here. Having lived here my whole life and being a guide for the last 8 years has given me a deep knowledge of the city and the traditions, rituals and religions that it surrounds. I booked a domestic, international Meet and Assist transit service with your company for the first time. To say that I am very pleased with the service is to say nothing. I was met with a name placard just at the aircraft, taken by cart to a luggage pick-up area, and stayed at an arrival lounge for several hours to wait for my international flight check-in. Your customer service representative, Ajay, was extremely professional and attentive, really took great care of me as a solo female traveler with a few big suitcases, it was important to me to get an assist and feel safe during my transit time. When the time for my check-in came, another employee, Beny, with her colleague, accompanied me to the check-in counters and helped me go through all the procedures, taking me straight to my boarding gates. It was the best airport experience I had in India. Definitely worth every penny. Highly recommended!

We had the Elephanta Caves and city tour. It was perfectly organized. Indian Magic Tours staff came at our appartment and took us to south Mumbai. After a quick tour of Victoria’s station, we went to Gateway of India and took the boat. Once on Elephanta Islande, a guide took care of us. He was very clear and made us discover a lot of very interesting information about the caves and Hindou religion. After that and a little tour in a fishermen village, we went back. Then another guide came for the city tour. We went to Marine Drive, Malabar Hill and Kamala Nehru Park. We also visited a beautiful Hindou temple before Malabar Hill. This entire day experience was wonderful !
