Excellent remote walking tour of the old city of Tbilisi with Bacho via internet. The technology worked well and Bacho has perfect English. Bacho is a friendly and very well informed guide. It was wonderful to get a taste of this beautiful and interesting looking city in the only way possible in current circumstances. Georgia is now very high on my list of countries to visit when circumstances allow and I will not hesitate to contact Bacho and Georgian holidays to help plan my trip. Highly recommended. Many thanks. Mike Davey England

The soaring Caucasus Mountains separate Europe from Asia, and the South Caucasus countries are on that borderline.  Inhabitants of Azerbaijan burned crude oil in their lamps before anyone knew what it was.  Beautiful, rocky Armenia was the first country to adopt Christianity as its official religion.  And Georgia, acclaimed for its fabulous food and drink, claims to be the first area to cultivate the wine grape. These countries are distinguished by their distinct histories, traditions, cultures and natural surroundings

Firstly credit where it’s due - value for money on our tour of the Southern Caucuses was pretty good as it was half board. The downside of that was that we never got to choose any of our own food and, although there was a variety of dishes served, it’s not the same as having a free choice. Secondly, the tour started each morning right after breakfast, went on all day and finished by going straight to dinner in the evening. This meant no free time at all which isn’t good when you’re visiting foreign countries. Finally, all of our tour group wanted to visit a bazaar one day, rather than yet another church. However, we were told that we weren’t allowed to. We didn’t appreciate being treated like children since all the group were between late 30s and late 70s.

During this day, we visit contrasting sites of several historical eras. A professional guide and safe driver with comfortable car, take you to the adventure in the south part of Georgia. We start our trip at 08:30. Our driver and the guide pick you up from the hotel. We have three destinations to visit in southern Georgia : Vardzia cave complex, Rabati castle and Borjomi. We start our journey with Vardzia, which is a cave dating back to 12th century, excavated from the slopes of the Erusheti Mountain. We go on the way to Rabati Castle, that is a medieval castle complex of Asian style in Akhaltsikhe. Built in the 13th century, Rabati castle developed under the influence of different cultures over subsequent centuries and this is reflected in its architecture. Our last destination is Borjomi. Borjomi is a hydro-thermal health spa resort in the southern region of Samtskhe-Javakheti in Georgia. Borjomi has an international reputation for its geothermal spring mineral water resources.

Inclusions: Hotel pick up and drop-off, Guide service, Transportation by private vehicle, Bottle of water

Exclusions: Lunch, Entrance fee of Rabati Castle, Entrance fee of Vardzia complex, Entrance fee of Borjomi Central Park

We just returned from TBilisi, and Megi made sure everything went perfectly. We had my 18 yo daughter who was born in TBilisi, myself, and her 3 grandparents 74, 76, and 80! Teimiraz was the BEST guide and Melvud was an excellent driver. We didn’t have to worry about anything. From picking up and taking to the airport, to dinner recommendations and reservations, everything was managed so well! We loved our trip and can’t wait to return! I highly recommend this company!!

I recently had the pleasure of spending a weekend in Tbilisi with a colleague and was given Rati's name (Splendid Tours Georgia) as a guide. What an amazing experience from his pick-up at the airport, to his drop-off at the end. Friday we spent 11 hours with Rati and Saturday we spent the day until he dropped us off for our flight. Rati is beyond knowledgeable. If you ask: "what's that", you not only get the answer but the history as well. He listened to what we wanted to do, went above and beyond to show us around, and arranged the most fun-filled, historical, informational weekend adventure. Rati will customize the tour to your likes. There's so much to see in Georgia that it's definitely beneficial to have a knowledgeable guide to take you. Rati speaks amazing English and can also speak Georgian (of course) and Russian. You won't go wrong with Rati!

Vardzia is a cave site in southern Georgia dating back to 12th century, excavated from the slopes of the Erusheti Mountain on the left bank of the Mtkvari River. Excavations have shown that the area of Vardzia was inhabited even earlier during the Bronze Age. There you can find bell tower, main church, cave dwellings, rooms, chapels, pharmacy and wine cellars. Infrastructure includes access tunnels, water facilities, and provision for defence. Vardzia has been submitted for future inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List as a Cultural Site. Rabati Castle is a medieval castle complex of Asian style in Akhaltsikhe. Built in the 13th century, Rabati castle developed under the influence of different cultures over subsequent centuries and this is reflected in its architecture.
