Cross the UN-patrolled border into northern Cyprus and visit two of the north’s most famous historical sites –The City of Salamis, an ancient city that unravels for about a mile along the shore, with an amazing amphitheatre and gymnasium as well as Othello’s Tower. You’ll also have the opportunity to wander around the old town with its Venetian walls and Gothic churches and take in panoramic views of the so-called “Ghost Town” of Famagusta -the once bustling holiday resort was abandoned during the Turkish invasion of 1974, and has remained sealed behind barbed wire barricades ever since. Your guide will fill you in with all the facts and figures.

The tour was private and very modified due to COVID. It really was more of a driver versus a tour, we got to see everything we wanted and our driver was very pleasant - but it was an unusual tour in these very unusual times.

One of the most popular trips to discover traditional Cyprus, the unspoiled beauty of Troodos Mountains and Nicosia town - the last divided city in the world! Wonder around the Old Town Centre (within the Venetial Walls) in Nicosia, or walk up to the barrier (also known as "Green Line") that divides Nicosia into two since the Turkish invation in 1974. Visit picturesque Kakopetria Village and Troodos Mountains, where the forest stretches as far as the eye can see. Last stop is the village of Omodhos and the Holy Cross monastery.

We visited the zoo the other day, it has most animals you could think off, they seemed well kept for the most part, a zookeeper mark allowed us to get a once in a lifetime photo with a giraffe, and you could tell he cared deeply about the animals, thought it was a great day out. We did think the monkey enclosures could be bigger and were a little on the small side, again with the birds and the ostriches. But other than that, the majority of the animals seemed to have big time enclosures and plenty of space to roam. And they are all rescue animals from what I understood, so have deffo got a better quality of life. I wouldn’t eat there though we went to the cafe which had run out of hand sanitiser when we entered, so we informed the staff, but then when we left it still hadn’t been refilled which during corona times is quite irresponsible. But if you like going to the zoo, take your own lunch and hand sanitiser and you will have a good day out ????

Larnaca, known in the ancient times as ‘Kition,’ was one of the most important Kingdoms of the island and birthplace of the philosopher Zenon, founder of the movement of Stoicism in Athens. Saint Lazarus is the patron saint of the city with an imposing church dedicated to him, which is only a short distance from the old ottoman fort. From certain facets in the center of the city, one can notice how the east meets the west between minarets and bell towers.

This tour was well worth every penny. Sirin is one of the best guides that we had so far.Who made our day unforgettable.
