It was a very interesting tour. First, we drove to the Burana tower, visited the museum took good pictures. Our guide Aibek told us the history of the ancient tower. After that, we stopped at a local cafe for local treat kattama bread. Then we drove and walked till the Canyon. There where 4-5 stone barriers which we had to pass. Canyons were amazing. Even its winter day there was almost no snow. Reddish beautiful rocks surrounded the area. The 2,5 km walk was worth of seeing this beauty. Thank you Aibek for a great tour.

Great way to spend your day in Bishkek especially if you have limited timeframe and energy to arrange everything yourself after a long night flight. Relaxed walking tour around the nice authentic Soviet city and gorgeous Ala-Archa mountains with full attention to your interests and wishes. Don't expect to hear a lot about the history, but this is more about impressions and sense of place. Special thanks to Ash for doing it in Russian first time, and worthy dining recommnedations.

The Kyrgyz land is a place of the untouched wild nature where the people from ancient times still keep their traditions, customs, and culture. In the mountains, you can meet the modern nomads who do not change their lifestyle for centuries. Their simple life can go into the yurt, a felt house that Kyrgyz nomads set so skillfully and decorate it with such love by multi-colored carpets. A lot of incredible discoveries and positive impressions expect you during this trip.

I had a transfer from Almaty to Bishkek. I have to mention that both drivers were very polite, friendly and careful on the road. It was snowing that day, so I asked the call-center to make sure that it would be warm inside the car. Both cars were warm. Both drivers even offered me some water and cookies. Overall it was a nice drive with a great service.

Central Asia Three stans - stretches from the Caspian Sea in the west to China in the east and from Afghanistan in the south to Russia in the north. It is also colloquially referred to as "the -stans" as the countries generally considered to be within the region all have names ending with the Persian suffix "-stan", meaning "land of". Central Asia has historically been closely tied to its nomadic peoples and the Silk Road. It has acted as a crossroads for the movement of people, goods, and ideas between Europe, Western Asia, South Asia, and East Asia. Issyk-Kul lake is the pearl of Kyrgyzstan. The name of the lake literally means “hot lake” because of the warm and salty water and not being frozen even in winter. Issyk-Kul is in the top of the must-visit destinations of the country and any local person can confirm it. The lake is located between the ranges of the Northern Tien- Kungoy Ala-Too and Terskey Ala-Too at an altitude of 1609 m above sea level and is considered as the second-largest alpine lake.

I contacted BEX via email and the responses were very quick which I really appreciated. I arranged for a driver to pick us up at the Korday Border in Kazakhstan to drop us off at our hotel in Almaty - DoubleTree Almaty. We paid 2600 som in cash. Initially they sent me the driver information with the name, phone number, car type and license plate. Then they changed the driver the day before. On the day we crossed the border from Kyrgyzstan, I could not find our driver so I emailed BEX and they changed the driver yet again and we had to wait 10 minutes for him to show up. We were told the original driver got sick. The car they used was an older Mercedes but it was quite comfortable. The drive took 3.5 hours because there was some road construction. When we walked out to Korday, there were actually ALOT of drivers asking if we wanted to go to Almaty. We even had someone say he would take us for 10000 tenge which is quite a bit less than what we actually paid. So if you don't mind negotiating a bit, you can get a car pretty easily. However, if you want peace of mind, I would recommend BEX. When I contacted other companies, it was actually quite a bit more.
