Just be careful. Booked a boat charter. Gave deposit $100. You can’t make this up. Go to lobby asking for where to get picked up. Looks at my ticket and asks me for the other $200 due. Taxi drive then asks me for the $200. Get to marina. Another guy asks me for the $200. There was no boat! Great learning experience. Lost the $100. But my 17 year old learned a great lesson.

Picked up at port very promptly and greeted by driver holding sign with our name on it. Mix up about whether I had paid for one buggy or two was solved by them just taking my word that I had booked two. Buggies could have used a good cleaning. Tour guide was wonderful. The stops we made were wonderful: giving children cookies, touring a cave and the beach. While it didn’t last 4 hours, more like 2.5, it was still a great tour.

CAYO LEVENTADO visit included in El Limon/ Samana tour. Beautiful beaches. Worth visiting, but on this tour basically 1hr to spend in this location which is definitely not enough. The beach is lovely, the area not too touristy and the shores shallow enough to enter for those with knee/ hip problems (in order to get out again). I would love to have spent more time here, but it is still a long way/ time from Punta Cana.

Took the tour with my wife and we both wanted to drive so we opted for the ATV vs. Buggy. Took us to a plantation with a little gig about the Cocoa (chocolate), Arabica coffee, tobacco and Macajuanna. They give you some samples and try and sell you some. I bought some cigars and they were great! Next we went to Macao beach which I also reviewed but in short it's cool. Lastly we went to a Cenote "Water cave" were you could swim in a very small beautiful cave with baby blue waters. It was quite packed though and way too many people at once in a small area in my opinion, with this happening during Covid restrictions. All in all a good time and I would recommend.

This was by far the worst excursion I have ever been on. We spent 8 hours in the car. The listing says 2.5 hours but they made us change busses 4 times to get there and it was 5 hours there because we went way out of the way. On the way back it took 3.5 hours and we missed our dinner reservation. The itinerary says 2.5 hours there and back and a 10 hour trip total so 5 hours in the city. Nope. 8.5 hours in the car and maybe like 3 hours total for all of our stops. The different vans/busses we took were dirty and gross. They had garbage in them and one smelt really bad. Not to mention each bus was jam-packed with people. Had to sit next to someone I didn’t even know in the midst of COVID due to that. Every person on the tour spoke English, but the tour guide spoke Spanish mostly to the two people who were bilingual so we didn’t really learn very much. The tour guide left us multiple times and we were stuck waiting for him or looking for him- we found him one time and he was at a bar drinking a beer. The entire thing felt like a giant money grab. They will take any change they can get to literally force you through some attraction that costs extra money or concession stands/ gift shops, etc. We were taken from store to store with extremely pushy sales people. We were forced to wait at one store for almost 40 minutes! We were all ready to go but weren’t allowed to leave. We came to see the city- not to shop at whatever store the tour company made deals with. A few places we literally saw them hand our tour guide money for bringing us there. The food was not good either. There were only a few things at the “buffet” and they give you one tiny drink. This was such a waist of one of my last days in the DR. Had I known it would mostly been a long car trip in an uncomfortable overpacked van I would have never gone in the first place. It was a complete ripoff and the vendor refused to give a refund stating “the tour was provided as advertised in the tour description” but I can 100% guarantee you that it was not.

Higüey City Tour, the perfect way to immerse yourself in Dominican culture and religious beliefs, learn about the history and local customs around one of the oldest cities of La Hispaniola "Higuey". The whole tour is very disappointing. An expensive bad joke.We waited 45 minutes for the driver to pick us up from the hotel. The helmets are dirty, one sized. Anyway, no need to use them because you go in a line with other 35 vehicles (buggies) very slow with several stops because in every 200m min. 1 vehicle has a technical problem. You can’t see anything because of the dust cloud (they don’t let you to keep distance). At Macao beach they lead you to a bar and say “you have 10 minutes, have a drink, wine, beer or water”. After you take your drinks and sit down, they come to you and ask to pay the drinks ( the ticket seller told us everything is included in the price). For 1 bear and a glass of wine they charge you with 15$! So after you pay, you will have exactly 6 minutes to admire the Macao beach! After that, you go ( in line as goodes) to the “chocolate and coffee fabric “ with is nothing else than a bar, you get a shot of coffee or cacao with milk. And then the last stop. The cave. They let all the 80 people from the 35 buggies into that tiny space, beside of other tourist. You can’t see anything, you can not get into the water because is full of people. This is absolutely unacceptable especially in corona times. At each stop people want to sell something to you. At the end, when you would like to go back as soon as possible to the resort and enjoy your stay, you have to wait cuz they try to sell you suvernirs, go pro video, photos. It’s not an adventure, is not authentic, it is not “all included”. You better take a taxi ( it is very close to Punta Cana) or a bicycle. The buggies are anyway in very bad conditions. The whole tour is about fooling the tourists.
