It seems like most folks have a grandmother, great-uncle or some other distant relative that used to live in Brooklyn, or perhaps a friend that lives there now. In the early 1900s, it was a mecca for immigrants arriving via Ellis Island. A hundred years later, young professionals and artists left pricey Manhattan digs for Brooklyn's cheaper and more expansive space. Neighborhoods like Brooklyn Heights and Park Slope, which had fallen into disrepair over the years, were restored and reborn as funky enclaves. Walk or bike over the historic Brooklyn Bridge (or ride the subway) to Brooklyn Heights for a stroll along the Promenade and breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline. Meander through Prospect Park and the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens for a taste of nature in the urban wilds. Catch a performance at the world-famous Brooklyn Academy of Music. From the delicious Italian restaurants of Bensonhurst to the Irish bars that line the avenues of Bay Ridge, from the hotdogs and rollercoasters of Coney Island to the bagels and handball courts of Greenpoint, Brooklyn is a state of mind as well as a dynamic community. Discover why, no matter where people move on to, they remain Brooklynites at heart.

This was a fun tour walking around the village and hearing stories of authors known, and unknown. The guides were a comic duo who played off of each other well. Their stories were full of information, and I learned a lot about a part of the city with which I thought I was really familiar. The stops along the way were iconic. We had enough time to get a drink and hear some tales. Definitely a fun afternoon out!

My friends and I took the DUMBO tour with Cindy. It was excellent. She was an amazing tour guide - balancing the historical information with anecdotal experiences that formed a fully enjoyable story about the area from the pre 1800 - now. Cindy engaged with the group in ways that got everyone involved in the storyline. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! I can't wait to register for another tour!

From Central Park to Brooklyn Bridge to Ground Zero, we'll see it all! This is not a tour for beginner cyclists. This a tour for confident, urban cyclists. We'll cover around 25 miles (40 km) over 6 hours. The pace will be brisk but not back-breaking or exhausting. We'll stick to designated bike lanes, but please understand, we cannot do this exclusively. This a tour for the adventurous of spirit. You'll see so many of NYC's most iconic spots and as they were intended to be seen: from the street. We'll take lots of breaks where you can get off the bikes, walk around and I will find you lots of photo ops to make you Instagram feed POP! I'll keep you safe and you'll never risk wasting time getting lost. I'll also keep you entertained and provide history, context and local color. By the end of the day, you'll feel the burn, but be ready to feast in one of NYC's great restaurants—guilt free, you earned it!

After taking the Brooklyn Bridge tour, my friend and I immediately scheduled this tour. There is no better way to get around Central Park than by bike, and Scott did a great job of telling us both the historical and pop culture significance of different spots. We had plenty of opportunities to stop, take pictures, and walk around certain areas like the Bow Bridge, Shakespeare Garden, and Strawberry Fields, John Lennon Memorial. I am already planning my next trip back to NYC and will be booking again!!

We had a small group, so our tour guide took time to explain Hasidic philosophy/theology to us at the beginning. We then toured seven different sites around the neighborhood. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and open. I was most impressed by how he explained the connections between Hasidic thought and how they lead their lives.
