The Emirate of Abu Dhabi (/ˌæbuː ˈdɑːbi/, /ˌɑː-/, or /-ˈdæ-/; Arabic: إمارة أبوظبي Imārat Abū Ẓaby, pronounced [ʔabuː ˈðˤɑbi]), is one of seven emirates that constitute the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is the largest emirate by area (67,340 km), accounting for approximately 87 percent of the total land area of the federation. Abu Dhabi also has the largest population of the seven emirates. One of my favourite Tourism Activities in the whole UAE to take visiting Family & Friends. Our guide Hassan was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the Birds & Educated us on them through great humour and storytelling. Watching a live procedure as well as feeding the birds was a highlight.

AL HOSN Located in downtown Abu Dhabi, Al Hosn is the original urban block of the city, a witness to the evolution of the city from a traditional pearling settlement to a modern global metropolis. Al Hosn comprises major elements: Qasr Al Hosn, Cultural Foundation, National Consultative Council, House of Artisans, Bait Al Gahwa Initiative, Water Feature and F&B. Incorporating the oldest structure in Abu Dhabi, Qasr Al Hosn is the narrator of Abu Dhabi’s past, telling stories of diplomacy, history & Emirati traditions, as well as those of the men and women who lived in the ruler’s palace. The National Consultative Council building stands as a symbol of the federalization & unity of the UAE, while House of Artisans serves to promote and preserve the tangible and intangible heritage of the UAE. Cultural Foundation represents one of the early achievements of the young nation-state – its first cultural centre, which would go on to become the home of cultural and social life in Abu Dhabi
Right in the city centre, Hamdan Street is this lovely fort and museum. Museum is great- tells history of Abu Dhabi and is very well set out...information presented well (and English), not overkill. The fort is well maintained and easy to get around. Entry is 30AED and that included the fort, Artisans House and a coffee ceremony. The Artisan's House was a quick walk through- well set out but not a lot there. The area around the fort is well maintained- a few quirky art installations and some cafes that were closed. Nice area to sit and chat or chill out. Fort s surrounded by towering skyscrapers!
