We just loved everything in Conegliano. We stayed at the Canon D'Oro and enjoed the ease with which we could walk outside and be near everything we wanted to see and visit. What beautiful buildings and architecture, and how lovely to see the superb manner in which city officials and local residents have cared for their beautiful town. It is still possible to see ancient frescos all over town, so many of the sidewalks still have the beautiful Italian tiles, the cafes and trattorias are just cozy and cute, the piazza attracts quite a bit of visitors at night, so it's a great place to absorb the local culture. Luckily we have friends living in Conegliano who were fantastic hosts and showed us the best Conegliano has to offer. Another fabulous convenience is that the town is just a couple of hours from Venice by train. This gorgeous town should be in everyone's list to visit. I can't wait to return!
