Well deserved UNESCO world heritage site!. Built in the 16th century, Morelia is an outstanding example of urban planning which combines the ideas of the Spanish Renaissance with the Mesoamerican experience.

Museo Casa Diego Rivera

The birthplace of Mexico's most famous painter has been preserved as a museum featuring some of his original works and a collection of artifacts from his house.

Reviewed By SeveBellisteros - Kansas City, United States

I am a big fan of Diego Rivera so I very much enjoyed his home. It is beautifully restored and has several of his early works, which are not in the style for which he is famous. I would read about him in advance of going as the signage. /story telling is minimal.

National Palace (Palacio Nacional)

This historic building was once occupied by Hernán Cortés, the Spanish explorer who conquered the Aztecs, and includes a famous panoramic mural of Mexican history by Diego Rivera.

Reviewed By k7vidya - London, United Kingdom

The National Palace building covers the one side of Zocala. Entry to this amazing Spanish Colonial building is free, but you must hand in a photo ID when you enter and get it back on your way out. Just make sure they are originals, not photo copies. The National Palace houses some of Diego Revera's murals. The one by the big staircase was my favorite. There are other exhibitions about Mexican history and culture along with a museum dedicated to Benito Juarez, the father of Mexico - showing the history of Mexico and his living area along with beautiful ground around the building. Again it's a shame that most of the information was in Spanish not in English.

Robert Brady Museum

This 16th-century structure, which served as the home of American artist and collector Robert Brady until his death in 1986, displays over 1,000 Mexican works of art and artifacts.

Reviewed By dilyshogarth - Loughton, United Kingdom

Robert Brady's house is an absolute MUST if you are in Cuernavaca . It was an unexpected delight and a fantastic eclectic collection of his treasures beautifully and colourfully displayed. Each room is a delight and a surprise and there are excellent notes in English in every room explaining the paintings and collection.

Valle de Bravo

Reviewed By P7828BUpatriciaj - Mexico City, Mexico

If you go to Mexico City it is worth to drive less than two hours to reach this unique place. All the color and flavor of Mexico mixed with amazing views, great restaurants and spas. There are several hotels and also you can find apartments and houses for short term rent. Great place to go with family and enjoy the water sports, horse rides, and a lot of fun outdoor activities. If your budget is high you can try with El santuario Hotel but you can also find several other good options less expensive. Don’t miss the little town where you can buy nice local stuff. I will review separate El Santuario & 2 restaurants I recommend.
