Parc national de l'Ile-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Perce

Parc national de l'Ile-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Perce stands out with its rich natural, historic, and geological heritage. Sculpted by time and the sea, at the Gaspe Peninsula's tip, it has the fortress of Bonaventure Island and the magnificent stone vessel of Perce Rock-Quebec's tourism emblem. Its outstanding flora and fauna, including its famous colony of Northern Gannets make it a must-see for visitors, as do the island's old homes-the last witnesses to the way the islanders lived a century ago.

The national park does a wonderful job of protecting the enormous gannet colony on Bonaventure Island, while providing excellent viewing for bird-watching. Access to the island is by boat, and the ride can be rough. The bird colony is located across the island from the boat dock/visitor's center, about a 45 minute hike over the summit, or a 90 minute hike (easier terrain) at the perimeter. Bathrooms are plentiful. Bring your rain jacket, water, and a camera!

Gatineau Park

This vast and scenic Ottawa park is ideal for walking, biking or cross-country skiing and also houses the MacKenzie King Estate, once the home of Canada's former Prime Minister.

A must to visit! Gatineau park is just beautiful. Close to Ottawa, with so many lakes including Pink lake (green), trails, wildlife, breathtaking views especially from Belvèdere where you can see as far as the Outaouais River. Good variety of restaurants (Chelsea) it does not matter the season of the year, each one is unique in its own way. In Autunm enjoy the colors is just magic!!! My favorite place in the Outaouais.

Stayed in this island for 4 days. Nice scenic drive around the island ... stopping at many places for local fruits, cheeses, chocolate & wine. Great view of the river and Quebec City. Easy access to main part of town and cross the bridge to a great waterfall.

Le Petit Train du Nord Bike Path

Reviewed By MarkR777 - Mississauga, Canada

People from all over the world come to Cycle the Laurentians to cycle the “P’tit train du Nord” trail. It is well developed with sign markers every KM and rest stops at the old train stations in each town. Since it is a former train track the grade is low so it is easy to cycle. Recommended for anyone of any age group; Best to do it over 4 days (3 nights) so that you are doing the 200 KMs at 50 KMs per day. Then you can enjoy the hospitality of the B&B's each night. Recommend that you take the bus to the top and spend the week trailing Down the mountain. From the top at Mont-Laurier, I would recommend that you stay the first night in Nominingue, the second night in Mont-Tremblant, the third night in Val-David then you would finish the ride in Saint-Jérôme.

Expedition Mi-Loup Dog Sledding

Reviewed By VikkiT213 - Sydney, Australia

We loved the entire experience! We were supposed to be picked up from our hotel by Expedition Mi-Loup at 10am but the driver was sick. The office were prompt and arranged for a taxi to pick us up which they covered the cost of. The winter gear we rented was all in great condition and even though we had been dog-sledding elsewhere before, it was helpful having the quick run-through with our friendly guides as the snow was more icy this time. We did the 1.5 hour dog-sledding and we absolutely loved it! The dogs were very happy and the scenery was amazing, such a beautiful island! Also, I thought the sled itself was super comfy as it was a raised seat - the previous times I have been sledding my bottom was at ground level, which made it very cold and uncomfortable. Getting to meet the dogs and the puppies at the end of the 1.5 hours was also so lovely - they were so cuddly. Our driver on the way back to our hotel was a great guide too. Very helpful that this company offered the option of transfers to/from the hotel, as many others did not. Such a worthwhile experience!
