The wooded hills of Kamakura contain numerous hiking trails, many of which connect the various temples.
This 3 km wooded trail connects Kita-Kamakura with the Daibutsu and passes several small, quiet temples and shrines. The path starts at pretty Jochi-Ji. It takes about 1 hour to do the trail.

Very tranquil. Great day trip with family. Walkable and close to good food. Shrines are nearby. Bus transportation will drop you off in front of the park where Buddha is located.

I walked that way to get an idea of history and also do some nice trekking in nature. Be aware that at around 9 am tour buses will start to throw out hords of people, who will join your trip... So be social or get there early.
