Fondly described as “the city nestled between the mountains and
reality,” Boulder delivers an urban twist on the outdoor fun you’d
expect from a town surrounded by wilderness. In a single day, you
can hike miles and miles of trails or bike alongside Boulder Creek
– then head back into town for some well-deserved shopping on
Pearl Street. And with many of Colorado’s top restaurants right
within reach, be sure to treat yourself to at least one great meal.

Beautiful area, great for walking. It's a big far/steep for toddler legs, so be prepared to carry little ones. But even if you don't get very far before turning around, the trip to see the park is worthwhile. Great couple of hours of sunshine, fresh air, and hiking for our family.

Thorne welcomes you and your little ones to the Sombrero Marsh Environmental Education Center for a fun, hands-on, self-guided nature experience. From 1-5 PM on Mondays and Tuesdays (excluding holidays), you can come in, chat with an educator, grab an exploration backpack full of dip-nets, insect trays, field guides, and a map of the facility. From there, you can go out and explore the Marsh!

Had an opportunity to hike this trail. It’s classified as “hard” by All Trails but the exposure is zero. This is a 1.3 mile stair master with as 1256 ft gain. The views are incredible and worth the trip. Don’t pass on this hike because it’s classified as hard. Take your time, enjoy the views and take as many breaks as you need. You can make it to the top.
