Our youth, energy, and passion coupled with the distinct sense of place that wine brings to our lives, allow us to produce wines of great character, and distinction. This dramatic canyon, a favorite of hikers and other outdoor enthusiasts, is characterized by beautiful rock formations, wildlife and rare plants.
If you love nature it is must stop when in Cyprus. Great hike and great experience. No flip flops, must wear good shoes.

Just a short drive from the main town, the ruins are just off the parking lot. Not overrun with visitors, but a sprawling gymnasium and baths complex and wonderful ampitheatre are highlights. The short loop takes you to all you need to see. We did the longer walk, which goes through brush for a while before coming to much less impressive ruins.

Located about 9km north of Pafos (Paphos), the monastery of Agios Neophytos was founded by the Cypriot recluse and writer Neophytos in the second half of the 12th century, in what used to be a secluded location at the head of the picturesque valley. The hermit carved a cave out of the mountains called the ‘Enkleistra’, which is covered with some of the finest examples of Byzantine frescoes that date back from the 12th to the 15th centuries. The monastery has a noteworthy ecclesiastical museum and its later church also contains some of the finest Post-Byzantine icons dating to the 16th century.

The weather was cool when we visited in middle of March and it was not too crowded. The climb up was not complicated - simply follow the signage and stone steps all the way up. The peak iof the castle is at over 700 metres. It offers a commanding views of Kyrenia/Girne area. We saw some visitors from group tours scrambled up the castle due to the limited time given for them to explore the sprawling castle grounds. We hired a taxi service from North Cyprus Brothers Taxi Services and could spend a good amount of time at the castle. We were picked up at our hotel in South Nicosia, went through the customs at the borders smoothly and had 6-7 hours to explore St Hilarion Castle, Kyrenia Harbour, the old harbour & Bellapais Abbey at a leisurely pace. Kyrenia, and especially St Hillarion Castle, is worth a day's visit as the views here are picturesque, and offered a different perspective of Cyprus.

We visited as part of a tour of Northern Cyprus and loved the village and the monastery. The views are beautiful and the monastery and its surroundings are tranquil and interesting - definitely worth a visit and you can see why Laurence Durrell chose to write here!

Great place to visit if you have a car to get there. Peaceful, tranquil and relaxing. Just park and look out over the small harbour at a super sea view
