Mostly jutting northward from its largest city of Amsterdam and its capital of Haarlem, the Noord-Holland region has much more to offer beyond those two wonderful cities. At Muiden is the magnificent Muiderslot Castle, as if it stepped out of a fairy tale. Showing more wear but no less interesting is Brederode Castle at Santpoort. At Zaanstad is Zaanse Schans, one of Holland’s top tourist destinations and a family-friendly open air museum of windmills, traditional buildings, crafts and shops.

In a bespoke designed park the pinnacle of Dudok's architecture dominates the Hilversum skyline. Still in full use after 90 years, the design marks the creativity and consistency of one of the world's best architects, also responsible for many other design in and around Hilversum. There is a very insightful museum in the cellar and on weekend days you can get a excellent tour around the building; including the tower.

It must date back to 1800s as the Architecture is unique and combines both Dutch (City Hall) combined with Gothic arches and towers (as in Churches). Could not go in due to renovation work, but can go around to appreciate the period of the building and it’s intricate components.
