The crown jewels, Buckingham Palace, Camden Market…in London, history collides with art, fashion, food, and good British ale. A perfect day is different for everyone: culture aficionados shouldn't miss the Tate Modern and the Royal Opera House. If you love fashion, Oxford Street has shopping galore. For foodies, cream tea at Harrod’s or crispy fish from a proper chippy offers classic London flavor. Music and book buffs will love seeing Abbey Road and the Sherlock Holmes Museum (at 221B Baker Street, of course).

For cigar aficionados, visit this out-of-the-way Havana haven for a wide selection of fine smokes and accessories.
I’d been looking forward to visiting Sautter’s (Mount Street shop) for some time. I wasn’t let down. Upon entering I was immediately assisted, my cigar of choice (a Romeo y Julieta ‘Wide Churchill’) was taken from their walk-in humidor (it was inspected to try and get me the best they had to offer), with the offer to cut the cigar and smoke/‘sample’ in-store. I chose to politely decline, as I’m saving it for another time. As I had chosen to take it away, it was put in a complimentary ‘humidor-bag/pouch’ with a boveda pack enclosed, and also a complimentary box of matches. This was one of three cigar shops I visited today (the other two being a 10 or so minute walk away), and this was easily the best experience, and my ‘favourite’ of the day.

Thomas Goode is world-renowned for classic china and leaded crystal pieces which are found in the finest English homes.
Not only the best collections of tableware but housed in an exquisite building. The store is huge and includes spectacular rooms with glass roofs and a paneled dining room akin to something out of a stately home. There are surprises in here too such as The Plateaux Gallery which has a jaw-dropping collection of contemporary glass and objets d'arts, a florist and a Thomas Goode museum where you can see the royal warrants and the plate Gianni Versace had made from them. An absolute MUST if you want to experience a quintessentially British store that bridges the gap between traditional and contemporary tableware, art, flowers and giftware.

As an art lover only the name Sotheby sends an electric thrill of excitement through my brain. Fault to affording the exquisite art on sale in the most world famous auction house, I subscribe to their newsletter and avidly follow their novel exhibition, events, auction list, on line tutorials. This year the exclusive circle of fine arts opened to me as well. Not for the primary purpose of art auction, but for the event organised by the equally famous magazine Harpers Bazar. The Annual Bazaar at Work Summit brought together most inspiring female leaders from the world of literature, fashion, art, finance and philanthropism. Empowering talks about a better work- private life balance, embracing the vulnerability of the complex lives of women. A meeting of great minds in the most artistic surroundings - modern abstract art hanging on walls, alongside traditional pastels and futuristic statutes. The united staff of Sorheby and Bazaar encountered the guests with professionalism, smiles and a genuine desire to make that few hours unforgettable. Such a happy moment!!

Have you ever held a Japanese, hand-painted pipe in a room filled with cigars, showing photos of churchill purchasing his favourite tabacco goodies? If you're an avid cigar/pipe smoker these guys know their business. Excellent customer service and knowledge which you would expect at a high end store like this. The resemblance to Kingsman's secret basement armory is uncanny. Not a tourist spot so only go if you are genuinely interested in what they offer...particularly if you fancy one of the "white spots" made in the UK. :)

From a small grocery store in Piccadilly in 1707, has grown a celebrated store with an international reputation for the exclusivity and quality of the products it sells. Fortnum's Food Hall is an irresistible display of gourmet pleasures, from chocolates and biscuits to smoked salmon and Stilton, vintage marmalade and seasonal produce. Passionate about provenance, we are proud to recommend every jar, spoonful and slice for our hungry customers.
Once again i visited the fountain restaurant within Fortnum and Masons on the ground floor for luncheon with my friend Mr Riazudin Mahmoud. Luckily I had booked a table as the queue for lunch was all the way down the stairs and I cannot abide queuing. We arrived at the restaurant at 145pm and were promptly seated by the window as requested. We had james as the waiter and he was extremely affable. On determining that we were going to have the 2 courses , we both opted for the Roast beef, potatoes and yorkshire pudding with cauliflour cheese for our main course. In addition to a carafe of lemonade. On the previous visit we were served by the delightful Paola , however she was not in our section, and we noticed that she had been promoted to head waiter. We nevertheless expounded our delight at seeing her and James informed her of this and she accordingly came over to greet us warmly, and we congratulated her on her promotion. Our main course arrived, however unfortunately it was not particularly hot and I duly informed the waiter of this who informed us that he would get this sorted. Shortly thereafter our beloved Paola came with the re-heated hot food was at last hot. We enjoyed the food tremendously, however there was a supplement of £5.50 for having the Roast beef and all the trimmings. I opted for the Plum pudding for dessert and custard, however on reflection we were mis-informed on booking the table that the mince pies and tea were an extra course, however this was not the case, as this was complimentary on top of the main courses, therefore Mr Mahmud decided to have the smoked salmon instead. Finally we partook of the tea and mince pies which were delicious. The whole bill came to about £90, which is not cheap, however for the quality of the service and the food is well worth it. I do recommend if possible that you ask to be served by the delightful Paola if you can as she is so experienced and such a delight that she should be the Restaurant Manager in my opinion. We exited the Fountain restaurant thoroughly sated and satisfied and would recommend this restaurant to anyone who visits London, however I do beseech you to book a table and not chance it, as there is almost always the inevitable queue, furthermore, please ask to be served by Paola if possible , she is a true delight. I shall be going back there in the new year and will be taking Mr Mahmud as well, this place is a delight and a pleasure. Why can't all restaurants learn from this well-established store and have such pleasant staff and such tasty food.
