While Atlanta is the anchor and capital of Georgia, you can aim in any direction to find distinctly different regions – from the tail of the Appalachians in the North to the rolling Piedmont hills and on down to the seaside marshes in the East. Atlanta lays claim to the state’s number one attraction – Stone Mountain State Park. They say it best - “Serious fun. Endless adventure.” Just 15 minutes from downtown, the world’s largest exposed granite dome is surrounded by 3,200 acres of natural beauty and stimulating activities for every member of the family – sky rides and hiking paths, laser shows and pedal boats along Stone Mountain Lake. Golfers tee it up, while red foxes dash across the fairways in a state where the Masters Golf Tournament creates revered green-jacket memories every year. It’s a long downhill ride down to historic Savannah, a ‘stone’s throw’ from the Atlantic and a virtual step back in time to Southern architecture and stately squares. St. Simon’s and Jekyll Islands offer barrier island beauty and a wonderful combination of outdoor activities, historic sites and artistic culture. Originally the private winter playground of wealthy northeasterners, Jekyll Island stretches along 10 miles of coastal beaches and inland marshes. Cycling and walking paths wind under moss-laden oaks, and a tour of Millionaire Village takes you back to those Cornelius Vanderbilt and J.P. Morgan days. The kid-friendly Summer Waves Water Park adds man-made fun to natural water sport activities. Coastal golf courses and sophisticated St. Simon’s Island appeal to moms, dads and vacationing couples.

We usually stop by to purchase pecans and need to do so again soon. What a choice! And who can pass up the ice cream? They have rocking chairs to accommodate your cone licking needs. Ah, and don't forget the samples. We always end up purchasing a new flavor of coated nuts.

I enjoy reading medieval mysteries. The characters commonly drink wine, ale - and mead. Since we last visited Savannah’s River Street new shops have been added. A retail outlet for the Savannah Bee Company is one of them. Staffed by friendly and knowledgeable staff, they have an extraordinary selection of honey-based products for sale. One of the product lines is mead. I didn’t know that mead was made from fermented honey. I learned that and had a chance to try samples at a tasting they offer. Entertaining and fun!

My wife and I along with 4 friends spent a very romantic vacation in the Blue Ridge Mountains. We went into town to do some sightseeing and shopping, we visited the Blue Ridge Olive Company. This is a must stop, the personal were so knowledgeable and helpful. They throughly explained the health benefits of the different olive oils and other uses. We bought some spices and used them on our steak dinner and the states were the best.

Sunrise Grocery is the oldest business in Union County in its original location. We like to stay local and carry all kinds of Appalachian goods. We have jams n jellies, honey n syrup, soaps, pottery, ethanol free fuel, firewood, and hand knitted items.
Peanuts being boiled outside. Staff are very welcoming. The store is large with unique gifts. There are framed prints from a local artist. It is definitely worth a visit if you are in town.

There are so many olive oil flavors to choose from! I have my favorite however. The Tuscan Blend Olive Oil is perfect for roasted vegetables, or panfried chicken, or a dipping sauce for baguettes.... Seriously, you can find a flavor to enhance any style of cooking. They have gift sets too. Makes a great birthday or Christmas gift for the cooks in your life.

I would first like to say thank you to Ed and Linda for the great experiences I had a Bacchus Wine and Growler Shop. You guys were awesome. Bacchus Wine and Growler Shop is now, Bacchus on the Lake. The staff at Bacchus on the Lake is wonderful. Wine, beer and fancy cigars. I am super excited that the new Bacchus will be a great success. I highly recommend if your in Hiawassee, stop by and see Ashlyn, Nicole, Brandon and Grant. They are very knowledgeable and will give you some great ideas on any occasion you may have.

We are a locally owned outdoor store carrying a wide variety of hiking and camping gear, gift items, local beer, clothing, books, kids play area, ice cream and popsicles and an indoor axe throwing venue! A little all over the place but we wouldn't have it any other way!
Friendly staff, unique gifts for kids, and even gave me a discount for wearing a mask! A definite must when I'm in Clayton.

The best way for me to quickly describe this store is that it’s filled with things that you technically do not need, but everything is so pretty and elegant that you want it anyway. We discovered this store on the advice of our tour guide (Kelly Tours). He mentioned it as an alternative to another honey vending store. But Capital Bee definitely does not stop at honey. There is a lovely honey tasting bar, and you can get a thorough description of each honey type. But when you walk in the door, there is a complete riot of colors and aromas—in fact, more merchandise crammed in there per cubic foot than in any other store I’ve seen in recent memory. There are all sorts of gifts for the kitchen, bath, accessories, ornaments, soaps, lotions, lip balms, and actually, my favorite was the handmade cloth face masks, which were very comfortable. What I liked about the souvenirs in this store is that they are classy and elegant, and not the usual touristy fare that is generic and typically not made locally.
