Le Paradis du Safran

This small saffron farm truly is a paradise, a relaxing and restorative break from the hustle of the cities, a destination worth the trip (45 minutes from Marrakech) for its beauty alone. Everything within this garden is lovingly cared for, which radiates through its blooming plants and healthy, happy animals. Christine and her staff provide a warm welcome with her stories and their tea with home-made traditional bread. It is worth your time in any season.

Jardin Majorelle

Nicely designed and maintained gardens, similar to those of Generalife in Granada, Spain. It’s a good place to recoup from the intensity of the market atmosphere.

Beautiful! Hidden gem. We loved this tour, great place to spend time and take pics! You have to call and make an appointment to tour the gardens because they are often closed for private events and the have to make sure some one is available to show you around. Have your hotel call and set it up for you or send an email with notice. We learned a lot about the different types of cactus. The have 2 lil baby camels that were super cute. They are building a restaurant, so I would love to go back and eat once they’re done. Le Jardin Secret

The riad-museum Le Jardin Secret is one of the largest and most ancient palaces of the medina of Marrakech. It is a place that has kept ancient structures intact that are of an extraordinary cultural value, linked to the art of gardens, architecture and Arab hydraulics. Popularly known as Riad Loukrissi, it has been the sumptuous residence of the Qaid U-Bihi who was the head of the Haha tribe. The riad rises up in the Mouassine quarter (on the main thoroughfare and but a few steps away from the Mouassine fountain and Mouassine Mosque), and comprises two large gardens and one of the highest towers of the medina. The museum provides you with a wealth of historical information about Marrakech's architecture, water, and gardens. You will also find a boutique, a bookshop and two cafes inside Le Jardin Secret. The cafes offer you up fresh, homemade products that you can eat in lush and peaceful settings.

André Heller's ANIMA is a magical place of surprising beauty that you wouldn't expect in the loud and crowded area of greater Marrakech. It's not only a garden: it's an impressive botanical staging. 250+ types of plants, from bamboo over palms and cacti, interact with pieces of art by Pablo Picasso, Keith Haring, undiscovered local talents and many more. Furthermore, two museum rooms present artists from around the world. Spana

Reviewed By Rosanna_Pittock_ - London, United Kingdom

This charity is amazing- doing great work in Marrakech for the abandoned & stray cats, dogs & other animals including stalks & peacocks, as well as the incredible work they’re doing for the working horses & donkeys. It’s a little off the beaten track but only cost 30 dirham in a taxi from the old town & we were given a tour by the really friendly & knowledgeable lady that works there. They provide a rehoming service, as well as a free hospital plus emergency care for the injured or neglected animals they come across. It’s great to know they are doing the best they can for the working horses & donkeys & she explained to us that all carriage horses have a band around their ankle which means the horse & owner are registered & the horse has to be bought in to be checked over & cleared for working. Any horse that is un-banded can be reported to them using the carriage number where you see the un-banded horse & actually after we left, we noticed some of these horses around the old square & reported the carriage numbers to them. They are trying to raise awareness of animal welfare in Marrakech & doing such great work, amazing to see. Please visit & donate!

Excellent. The location of the Garden is wonderful as just some few meters from the post office and MC do at the corner of Mohammed the fifth avenue . Lovely place , excellent for kids too as you have a kind of little place dedicated to the younger with some huge dinosaurs they can play with & other games for kids. The park has also an excellent maintenance and the garden is heartbreaking. To go and go again. Last..free entrance. Cheers,Olli.

On our Moroccan tour while in the Ourika Valley, this visit to Jardin Bio-aromantique d' Ourika was included in our itinerary. First, we had a tour of their organic gardens which were lovely. The garden focuses on natural herbs, and they prepare a wonderful lunch using fresh vegetables and herbs from their garden. While they are also cooking the food outdoors barbecuing healthy selections, we were treated to a professional herbal foot bath which was very nice and relaxing. Lunch was served in a beautiful setting outside under a gazebo. The food was delicious and everything was really nice. Everyone enjoyed a very special day, we felt pampered and would highly recommend this wonderful experience.
