We started as a landscape company specializing in water-gardens and opened an aquatics farm where we have our display gardens, gift shop & Backyard farm. Its a great place to stop to feed the fish, check out the shop, make your own fairy garden or terrarium, or just relax by the waterfall. The store carries pond supplies, local CT artisans, nature-inspired gifts & home and garden accents. We are seasonal may-december and have large holiday displays in the garden. (The not-so-spooky-trail & winter-wonderland) We offer private shopping & parties. Don’t forget to check out the farm animals while you are here! We are located at 101 Allen street, Terryville CT. You will see the open sign & flag will be waving during business hours! Pull in there is plenty of parking & sorry... no public restrooms!

A CLASSIC GARDEN in the English manner, with a loosely formal structure, informally planted in generous abundance situated in the Litchfield hills of northwestern Connecticut. Hollister House Garden, a non-profit corporation, is one of only 16 exceptional gardens currently designated a Preservation Project by the Garden Conservancy, whose mission is to identify and preserve important private gardens across America for the education and enjoyment of the public. Hollister House in 2010 achieved its prestigious listing on the National Register of Historic Places and the property was also named a Town Landmark Site by the Town of Washington.

This walkers' haven, with several gardens along its wildflower trail, a lovely pond and sports and concert facilities, is best known for its magnificent rose garden, with 800 varieties of roses.
This is a beautiful park with lovely pond and famous Rose Gardens; also Heirloom Rose Garden and stunning Shade Gardens, Tulip Gardens, Perennial Garden, Iris Garden, Herb Garden and more. The accreditation of Elizabeth Park's Kim Arboretum occurred in 2019. Wedding ceremonies in the Rose Garden and other gardens are frequent. The Pond House Restaurant has (seasonal) outdoor seating options as well as indoor seating year round. Food is very good; decor is eclectic - something for everyone - and reasonably priced. There is also a lovely wedding/event venue in the building. There are well-used walking trails, green houses, a playground and more.

The Bartlett Arboretum is a beautiful, natural park with wilderness trails, amazing specimens of trees and immense planting beds of flowers and shrubs. There are self-guided tours (with audio accompaniment via smartphone) describing the collection. An indoor nature center hosts lectures and arts performances and on weekends, Yoga classes are conducted out of doors. Great places for families with kids. And don't miss Sunday evening concerts in the summer. Best of all, the grounds are free admission.
