Unassuming Brussels is the capital of Belgium, Flanders and Europe. Medieval Grand-Place, is indeed grand, with many 17th-century buildings and daily flower markets. Reopened in 2006, the Atomium, Brussels' Eiffel Tower, provides great views, inside and out. Architecture fans should visit Musee Horta, home of Belgian master architect Victor Horta. St. Gery's clubs and bars are packed year-round. Seafood eateries abound in Ste. Catherine. Walk, rather than get snarled up in traffic, in the narrow streets.

I visited the Jardin Du Petit Sablon on the last day of my extended August Bank Holiday break last year. After visiting Notre Dame Du Sablon,I exited the church crossed the road and was greeted with this fine landscaped gem of greenery. The gardens, the fountain, and the statues are amazing. The whole garden is encircled with impressive statues both internally and externally. An information board, explains more about the garden. A nice picture to take is the gardens with the church in the background. Well worth visiting, taking in and enjoying these small but very pretty gardens.

One of the most beautiful areas and view of Brussels. If you walk down from the Place the Place Royale you will be surprised with a sudden city view with the gardens below. The whole area is very artistic and everywhere you look you will see architecture, art, design, music and sculptures. Instagram hot spot for pictures

Walk, jog or bike Brussels' inner city green path, the Parc de Bruxelles. Dotted with classical statues , trees and fountains, the Parc de Bruxelles is an old, formal park that offers views of the Palais Royal and the Palais de la Nation.
I kinda liked this park. I mean, Brussels is a big city so it's very nice that they have a large park for getting away from the traffic and sitting on benches, enjoying the fountain, walking in the wooded areas, glancing at the statuary, watching kids run around playing and enjoying the playground areas, etc. I was there during the IRIS festival, so it was even more active, with booths and food and entertainers set up all over the place. Best thing worth noticing is the trellis boundary that surrounds the park. They planted trees (ivy like trees) equidistant and then tied up the branches to each other into a natural grid layout. It's real, and very creative!
