A ski town that is also an authentic ranching center, Steamboat Springs is more down home than glitzy. Cowboy hats and ski boots are equally welcome on the city's friendly streets. The place where downhill skiing first flourished in the United States, Steamboat Springs remains a premiere slopes destination. But the town also offers outdoor recreation of every stripe and season. And after a long day hiking, schussing or shopping, you can relax in one of the natural hot springs for which the town was named.

Great experience. Maureen was a great instructor for a first timer like my wife, and equally helpful for a more intermediate shooter such as my self. We’ll be back for sure.

Come play with us! Steamboat Tennis and Pickleball is a public tennis facility located in the mountain area of Steamboat Springs, adjacent to the base of the Wildhorse Gondola (the smaller gondola.) Our facility offers both indoor and outdoor courts - including 3 outdoor hydrocourt clay courts, 5 outdoor hard tennis courts, 6 RSS 500 cushioned indoor hard tennis courts and eight outdoor Pickleball courts. We have demo rackets, a pro shop, and offer private and group instruction. We can also set up games for you while you are visiting. In 2011, the Tennis Center at Steamboat Springs was named the USTA National Tennis Facility of the Year.
As a local, I feel so lucky to have this great facility staffed with very friendly people. I take regular drills with Sean Pummil, who is a great instructor. His wife Marcy is also excellent. Keep coming! We will have a special new building for Pickleball soon, so keep checking us out!

The Alpine Slide is closed for the season. Come see us for an exhilarating ride right across the river! Using a sled provided to you at the top of the Barrows Chair lift, you are in control of your exhilarating ride as you wind down a 2,400 foot track through the bends and curves of the natural landscape of beautiful Howelsen Hill. Proceeds benefit the young athletes of the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club.
Discovered that proceeds from the slide go to the SS Winter Sports Association to help maintain the ski jumps, etc. Great cause! My husband and son had a great time on the slide. Social distancing measures were in place. Price was reasonable too!
