This central location of Wiesbaden nightlife, the Kurhaus is most famous for its renowned casino.
We were stunned by visiting this impressive building. The Kurhaus Wiesbaden, a cure house as it means, built in 1907, is a place of marvelous historic architecture and state-of-the-art comfort, the perfect blend of relaxation, experience, beauty, and functionality. Since its inauguration, it has been a center of social events in the city. With its twelve magnificent halls and salons, it offers the ideal venue for galas, seminars, conferences, and congresses. It has also been used for filming TV series and movies. The neoclassical architecture houses a convention center and a casino. The building is divided into two equal-sized wings. In the south wing there is a large central pillar-lined concert hall. The north wing houses the smaller ballroom, a restaurant, and the main portion of the Casino, or Spielbank, which offers roulette, blackjack, and poker. During the 1980s, the Kurhaus underwent an extensive renovation and was equipped with modern conference technology. A landmark of an elegant city, it is surrounded by a lot of green, and splendid historical buildings. A complex of 12 rooms and parlors of varying size and style, several restaurants and the Casino, all assembled under one roof. For me, this has a significant status – my son Wasif Sagri attended his graduation ceremony at this splendid convention center on completion of his MBA in International Business Administration.

The Erdinger Arena is one of the most impressive and most beautiful ski jumping stadiums in the world. Almost daily national and international training groups practice on the jumping hills in the arena. In addition, numerous events such as the Four Hills Tournament, concerts and much more take place every year. A ski museum, guided tours, the “skywalk-park” between the jumping hills and a restaurant complete the experience.
Note that “Audi Arena” and “Erdinger Arena” are one and the same place. It simply changed the main sponsor and with this its name. Be prepared for further changes in the coming years, depending on the ever changing main sponsors. The arena is located at the northern hill of the “Schattenberg” and its eponymous ski jumping hills. It is famous worldwide for its beautiful surroundings. It even has its own little waterfall, within the compound, that can be seen next to the standing area. An arena trip includes a climb by elevator to the top of the jumping tower and a visit to the ski museum. The latter is located in the main building and is reviewed separately on TA. Note that if you visit on a day when a ski jump event is taking place, the arena trip is not possible. The gondolas of the cable car to the “Nebelhorn” summit crosses the grand stands the whole day, even during World Cup events. The grand stands, surrounding the landing area for the athletes, look like a football stadium cut in half and can accommodate 27000 people Do not confuse the “Schattenberg-Schanze” with the even bigger “Heini-Klopfer-Schanze”, which is a few kilometers away and used for the spectacular ski flying events. Ski Jumping originated in the 18th century, in the Norwegian province of Telemark. With time, the interest for this new discipline rose and Ski Jumping became a sport of its own. Today Ski Jumping is one of the most popular disciplines in winter sports. Around the world fans gather to watch athletes fly through the air at world cup competitions and the famous “Vierschanzentournee” (Four Hills Tournament). Ski jumping was added to the Olympic winter games in 1924.

Irrland • The farm-adventure oasis To be a child again, play together, not against each other, that is Irrland. Even in the 21st year, we remain true to our philosophy. We offer a great gaming environment and a high recreational value combined with a unique friendliness at low cost. Irrland is growing dynamically and has become Europe's biggest "farm-adventure oasis". Our 300,000 sqm area is an palm-lined, green oasis and exudes mediterranean holiday atmosphere. Over 1,000 seating protect you from sun and rain, and our free disposal grills are perfect for relaxing and enjoying. (reservations not necessary / possible) To visit Irrland is worthwhile in any weather! About 8,000 sqm of play and action barns, an indoor climbing world, play barns for small children, as well as the largest winter garden in North Rhine Westphalia makes the Irrland becomes an "all weather park".
For all readers from the UK, let me say that nothing in the UK matches Irrland. Oh boy, we have a lot to learn! Firstly, the cost. €7 ish each! To be precise, booking online (needed during Covid) 3 day ticket booked the day before cost us £20.53. Secondly. You can park for free! Third. Once you’ve paid to get in....No temptation! No £5 balloons, No arcades or those dreaded games to try win some awful oversized garish stuffed thing from china. Any food & drink was fairly priced. If you want a coffee or ice cream, it’s normal shop prices. Finally. It’s geared up to a full day out, picnics, BBQ’s (to hire), 100’s of covered picnic seats, bring your own stuff settle in your spot and enjoy. You don’t have overpriced junk food on every corner. Of course you can buy a German sausage and fries in one place, but that’s it. You can hire a sturdy wooden cart to pull everything around (including a 7 year old) for €3 plus a €10 deposit returned on exit, which is very handy (as well as great fun to be pulled about in I’m told). So, what do you get for that massive €7 entrance fee? So, So, so much I can’t begin to put it all in a review, but I can say we arrived at 11am, left at 7pm (closing time in July) and didn’t mange to see IIrland North. We arrived at West, managed to travel to the south before being beaten by time. It’s a park, it’s a massive brilliant park, it’s a water park, it’s a soft play, it’s got animals, it’s got boats, it’s got sandpits, it’s got climbing things, swinging things, it’s got bouncy things galore.... sit on tractors, pedal cars and wheelchairs! It’s for toddlers, it’s for bigger kids, it’s for teenagers. Not a grab machine in sight, no arcades, no vending machines. No temptation. Nothing to squeeze you of a few quid. The kids won’t even think of that stuff because there is just so much for them to do. Outdoors and undercover. It’s wholesome fun. What kids need. We visited during the Covid situation in July20, and other than the odd place you needed to wear a mask which was local law at the time of visiting, it was all very well managed. Contactless payment accepted for a drink and ice cream so no cash needed except a €1 coin for some of the pedal things (like a supermarket trolley return). I can honestly say that if Irrland hasn’t won awards for what they have done & the environment they have created, they need to. Because it’s brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. We will be back! Don’t change Irrland ????
