Had a lovely evening (another one) at The Ludoquist last night with a friend where we managed to play 5 games, a couple of beers and pizza (which was piping hot and delicious) in a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The staff are always lovely whether they are just taking your order at the counter or if you are asking for game recommendations or help with a game. I've never had a bad evening there and will certainly be returning again very soon. It's probably my favourite place to go out to nowadays and I hope to be able to make more regular trips there in the coming months, whether it's for an organised gaming evening such as the Light Wargaming that they put on or just meeting up with some friends. For me it is definitely the best place in Croydon.

The David Lean Cinema offers the best of British and World cinema, as well as classic re-releases and recent favourites. The 68 seat cinema housed within the Croydon Clocktower complex is run by volunteers and screens films on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
This is an excellent little cinema in Croydon's town hall building, generally used to screen films that you can't watch in the nearby big multiplex. Seating is limited, so it pays to book in advance which can be done online or in person. On some of the recent screenings I've been to, they have shown short films made by BRIT Academy students before the main feature, and on my most recent visit, the short film was followed by a quick Q&A with the director. Other innovative ideas are also tested out, including Q&A's and Skype conversations with feature filmmakers, 'babes in arms' screenings and Alzheimer's-friendly viewings. There's also a small bar area in the entrance lobby where drinks and snacks can be purchased. I really like this place and I'm glad it was brought back from the brink by the campaigners and volunteers who keep the place running.

An Escape Room is an hour-long adventure with your friends, your family or perhaps your work-mates. It’s a bit like the Crystal Maze from TV, or a real-life version of an online Room Escape game. You play as a team and have to find clues, solve puzzles, and complete challenges to finish your mission in 60 minutes!
This was my first visit to an escape room and it defo won't be my last. 6 of us thoroughly enjoyed the different tasks that were needed to be completed within this record shop in order to escape. There really was something for everyone and we all came out having had a great laugh and a lot of fun. We managed to escape with 2 minutes to spare!
