10 Fun Activities & Games in Chattanooga That You Shouldn't Miss

November 12, 2021 Esmeralda Fenner

The name "Chattanooga" comes from the Creek Indian word for "rock coming to a point." This refers to Lookout Mountain, one of the city's major attractions. Here visitors can explore extraordinary rock formations, see a roaring enclosed waterfall and travel by train to the top of the mountain for truly awesome vistas. Back down on the ground, don't miss the world's largest freshwater aquarium, the Tennessee Aquarium. History enthusiasts will love the city's museums dedicated to Civil War, Native American and 20th-century history. More than anything, Chattanooga is a scenic city, full of natural wonders waiting to be explored by foot, car, bike or train.

An hour flies by when a family of four, 2 being teenagers, work together to escape from prison. Great fun! Fantastic family bonding time while on vacation (visiting from Texas). Teenagers didn’t get bored or use their phones! (Except as a flashlight or calculator). We escaped with 6 minutes and 47 seconds to spare and thoroughly enjoyed it all!

Our visit to Time to Escape was awesome! We escaped with just 2 seconds to spare. We did an escape room as a school activity. We did the Sabotage Room -- I love the historical aspect of this room and the collaborative effort it takes and allows all students to be involved. Katie was very accommodating in our schedule. We arrived a little early, but due to no one in the room, we were able to get started. Thank you for a great time!

Civil Axe Throwing - Chattanooga

Throw an axe. Be awesome. Repeat!

Reviewed By 884brittanyw

We booked the 9:45 slot for our group of 8 people for a birthday celebration. We had an absolute blast! Our guide showed each one of us how to properly throw the axe until we got the hang of it, and then he let us go on our own. You're allowed to bring your own beer. They have a whiteboard up where you can play different games and keep score. We had so much fun that we asked if we could stay an extra hour. Since there was no one booked after us, they said it wasn't a problem at all. They only charged us half price for the second hour. It was such a great time. Will definitely do it again. Our guide was great. I think his name was Brian.

This pinball museum is an interactive all-you-can-play museum dedicated to the nostalgia, history and science behind the fascinating games of pinball and arcade. We are located in downtown Chattanooga on Broad Street.

Amazing retro experience for older mall rats and a boat load of fun for kids. The games are so much better than video games. You can play classic pinball and arcade games like Pac Man. One price for all you can play. It's an awesome adventure!
