Alaska is divided into five regions: far north, interior, southwest, south central, and inside passage. Although it takes a long time to see the entire state, you can travel through the regions by boat, car, bus, or plane. Hike through the mountains, or venture out on a deep sea fishing or whale watching excursion. Get in touch with nature by camping in the wilderness, or experience your preferred degree of class and luxury in the beautiful, active cities of Anchorage and Fairbanks.

Open Daily 10am-6pm Mid May - Mid September Jordan and Ilaura, the Gold Daughters, grew up in Fairbanks, Alaska where they started prospecting for gold as soon as they could hold a gold pan. They opened their women owned and operated business after graduating college out of state and deciding they wanted to go back home to work together and share the childhood hobby that shaped their lives. First time visitors to Alaska, as well as locals, are invited to the unforgettable experience waiting to be discovered at Gold Daughters. The friendly and knowledgeable staff will guide you through the best gold panning in Alaska, and it all starts with a panning lesson. Once you are confident with your technique and have graduated from a Cheechako to a Sourdough, you are welcome to pan until you’re rich, tired or we’re closed (whichever comes first). Unlimited gold panning, guaranteed gold, no reservation required! Shop the Alaskan sourced gift shop, learn a new skill and catch gold fever!
Took a cruise and land trip to Alaska, once in a lifetime trip. Had some free time in Fairbanks and my father and I decided to do a little gold panning. Ended up spending a few hours there, had the few gold flakes put into a locket (they sell there) great souvenir! Across the road is a visiting spot for the Alaska pipeline and walked there and took a few pictures. Perfect for families, covered picnic tables so you are covered rain or shine.

So, from 12 to 81...this is the place to go when in Anchorage if you want to do something exciting! You must do it!!!

The Folk School of Fairbanks offers year-round, affordable classes and programs in a wide variety of hands-on disciplines for adults and youth, teaching traditional skills using natural materials. We are part of a 200-year-old tradition of folk schools but with a uniquely Alaskan focus. We emphasize life-long learning, and to help students reconnect with the earth.
Love The Folk School! Classes come in a wide variety from experiences that can be enjoyed in a couple of hours to more in-depth workshops. I loved the Spinning in Color workshop and learned so much I can continue to explore on my own! It's a treat to just stop in at the cabin to browse the library or purchase gifts. So many reasons to visit and participate in classes - I'll definitely be back.

We are located off Broadway, away from the hustle bustle of downtown. Find us at the corner of 8th and Alaska, near the airstrip. Our one hour Escape Room Game will challenge and entertain your family/friends. Make a memory by searching for clues that lead to the where about of one Patricia Bihn, who came to Alaska in 1925.

On site you can enjoy the many attractions and displays including a dress up photo shack, movies, and educational exhibits. There is also a restaurant and soda factory to allow our guests to make a day of it at Dredgetown. We aren’t just tours – we are an experience!
Jenkins was such a blast to have as our tour guide! Extremely knowledgeable and fun, a very patient and smart guy. He made snack bags for each of us, told great stories and explained things in a way that everyone could understand and he answered every question that anyone had 10 out of 10 I highly recommend, thank you CJ (The photo attached is a card that chilkoot jenkens made for all that toured with him, it’s a photo he took of Skagway from when he hiked one of the mountains with a picture of him and some cute sled dog pups on the back, an excellent photo to keep and a great way to remember a great tour guide)
