Best Regard’sBoutique Namaste India
My wife Mary Lou, friend Bruce and I visited Namaste when we were in Udaipur. This was in 2016, not Sept. 2019 - the options for "when did you go" only go back to that date. We had seen the great reviews of Namaste on TA so we visited the shop and had a variety of items made, including a 3 piece, silk/wool suit for me. Everything fit perfectly and the suit was beautiful. Recently I ordered another suit from Sanjay at Namaste to have shipped to Canada. I knew he still had my measurements so I was confident it would fit well. I was a little worried about how i would pay for it . And having it shipped to Canada. As it turned out the process was easy.. The suit arrived quite quickly and in good condition. It is beautiful and as expected, fits like a glove. And the fabric and style are excellent. So if you have visited Namaste and Sanjay has your measurements, don't hesitate to order a suit and have it shipped. Even if you haven't visited Namaste, the website provides clear instructions on how to measure yourself. No guarantees but i suspect you would not be disappointed. I need a new winter coat and will be ordering one from Namaste this fall.

My wife and I took a miniature art painting class with Ali and we absolutely loved the experience! It definitely falls in our top 3 experiences from our entire Rajasthan trip. We both are beginner level drawers and painters, but Ali was very supportive and patient with our inexperience. He taught us techniques in drawing and painting and allowed us to do the entire work, only stepping in when he suspected us hitting a road block. He was great in offering suggestions on color schemes and what designs to utilize to garner an art piece we would appreciate. I spent 4 hours because I took my time but typically, Ali says it takes around 3 hours. For 200 rupees per hour per person, we ended up going back the next day because we were so happy with our art that we wanted another creation. Obviously it's not the same level of work that you can find at the shops, but we felt it was more cost effective creating our own piece to take home to display!

Gothwal Art is a miniature and contemporary art gallery located in Udaipur city of Rajasthan , the city which holds miniature in its history as a traditional art form.
I walked into the store after reading a good review on wikitravel. The reviews are real and they are super sweet and honest. The husband and wife are the artists and shopkeepers and are the kind of people that make you fall in love with India. The artistry work and their prices are good as well. I bought a few things and then checked a few stores afterward to make sure I got a fair price. After looking at other stores I realized their first price was a much better price than anywhere else and they were totally honest and fair from the start (not usual in India). I like when I go to stores and feel they care about their work and customers and that is how I felt there. I recommend going there!

We purchased an Indian wedding couple from this shop and had the package shipped back by DHL to Australia. The owner, Aoshit, was extraordinarily helpful and knowledgeable. He made a large wooden box, which was used to ship our goods. He also gave us detailed information after our purchase about when our package was sent, a tracking number and photos of the box. When our goods arrived in Australia, everything was in perfect condition due to the outstanding care which had been taken with the packing. Aoshit's shop is a treasure trove of Indian artefacts! If you would like to buy a large item and have it shipped home, we would highly recommend that you purchase your goods from Aoshit. A delightful man with a fabulous shop!

Animal Aid Unlimited is a life-changing place for both people and animals in Udaipur, Rajasthan, India. Founded in 2002, our mission is to rescue and treat the un-owned street animals of Udaipur, Rajasthan, who have become ill or injured. Through their rescue we inspire the community to protect and defend the lives of all animals. Animal Aid’s hospital has approximately 450 animals of different species with us under treatment on any given day, and our sanctuary is home to 150 animals. Come for a visit, come to volunteer for half a day, or volunteer every day! We want you to come to Animal Aid and join in the magic that is animal protection and care. Animal Aid is a happy place where animals are healing and loved. Tours are given frequently at the following scheduled times throughout the day: 10:30, 12:00, 2:30 and 3:30.
It was our first time in India and as an animal lover, I had been very disturbed by the plight of some of the animals we’d seen living on the streets. I felt like I needed to do something to help but was unsure what. By chance we got talking to a lovely Australian lady in Udaipur who was feeding the street dogs, she then told us about Animal Aid Unlimited and the rescue centre. We took a tuk-tuk up to the centre, which was a lovely 20 min drive through the countryside. The volunteer coordinator, Rachel, showed us around and was very clearly passionate about the work they do and answered loads of questions, not only about the animals but also about living in India. It was a privilege to be able to spend time with the animals in such a well organised and inspiring place. There is absolutely no hard sell which was refreshing. I bought a T-shirt whilst there and have also since set up a regular donation to help support their work. Hoping to return as a long term volunteer in the future. If you care about animals it is an absolute must.

After many years selling our work to private shops, me and my brother have decided to open our own local shop and school of Udaipur miniature paintings, selling our work as well as the work of other local artists from our community. No comissions, no fake prices, we provide with the work comming directly and ethicaly from the artist’s hand. With more than 15 years of experience, we specialize on paintings on Silk, Paper, Marble, Wood, Camel bone, Cotton and Canvas; or we can even make paintings in your nails. We can also provide workshops and personalized art classes for you, your friends, and your family. Come as a student and leave as a friend!
The lovely brothers looked after us for an afternoon of learning about Rajastani Miniature Paintings, demonstrating key techniques and helping us do each do a painting. We learned about the mineral pigments and brushes. We enjoyed the excellent Chai Masala and hospitality! This was a really authentic and enjoyable experience and is highly recommended! Thank you so much!
