After taking a little uphill pathway surrounded by snow, we were rewarded with the beauty of this snow-covered shrine at the foothill of Mt. Daisen! I really recommend going in winter!

A scenic road alongside the Sea of Japan where you find small islands, grottos, hidden beaches and cliffs. There are facilities as stairs, bathrooms, etc. I highly recommend taking the taxi tour from tourist office, next to the train station.

Oyama Temple reaches 1300 years after the mountain was opened. The main hall which was hit by the three-year and four-year fire of Showa was rebuilt in Showa 26. Even now, there are many treasures left, such as Yamauchi Temple Jukain, important cultural property Amidado and Tokusansonson, and as a temple of so-called 'Tandai', it is a famous place of so-called 'San-in'. Reverence as a temple where you can meet your ancestors.
Even though the main hall was closed when we went, we could still admire the temple's architecture with the added beauty of the snow! I could also enjoy ringing a Buddhist bell for the first time!

The ruins are alright. There is not much information regarding what was once there. The park is pretty though. And there is a nice hike to the top of the hill with great 360 degree views. There was also an old abandoned schoolroom at the top.

Hakuto Shrine was the setting of the myth of the White Rabbit of Inaba, mentioned in Japan’s traditional creation myth, the Kojiki. Legend holds that the powers of the shrine offered relief from burns and other skin conditions. Mitarashi Pond Along the roadside of the grounds is the Mitarashi Pond, where the White Rabbit of Inaba was said to have washed his wounds and taken healing. The waters remain level, never swelling or declining, throughout the year. Myth of the White Rabbit of Inaba In what is considered Japan’s first love story, the White Rabbit was the matchmaker for King Ookuni and Princess Hachigami. In more recent times, fittingly as this story’s birthplace, Hakuto was designated as ‘the holy ground for lovers’ in 2010.

The Yonago Castle Ruins are not to be missed. I found that there was not to much to do in Yonago, but this is well worth exploring. There is a parking lot at the base, and several different hiking trails to the ruins, all were fairly easy. Once at the top you get incredible views of the city of Yonago, the sea, and Mt. Daisen. I bet it would be beautiful here during sun rise and sun set. The ruins itself are pretty impressive, it must have been a huge complex. Definitely, come here for the views!

In Daisen rangeland where idyllic and idyllic scenery continue. Here is a place where you can be immersed in an open feeling like the great plains of the Alps. There are many cows grazing in the area, and it is possible to meet them in the near future. The dairy experience of making milk products at Milk Factory is also popular, and the restaurant at the hotel also has a variety of foods that use plenty of fresh milk. You are simply overwhelmed by the scale of Shufeng Oyama, which rises in the background.
After a trek to Mt. Daisen, what better way to relax then grabbing fresh ice cream? Daisen Makiba Milk no Sato was a great stop, highly recommended. This place was crowded but full of families and happy people using the lawn and enjoying freshly made ice cream. There is a large parking lot here with amazing views of Mt. Daisen. I came for the ice cream and it did not disappoint. The ice cream was thick and delicious, I could have had another one. Other then ice cream, there is a huge lawn here that was full of families getting together, there is a gift shop, and other fun activities. This attraction is a must if in the area.
