Southwest of London is Southampton (Soton to the locals), a metropolitan area centered around the port. However, tucked away on the side streets are ancient gems such as the Tudor House, Mottisfont Abbey, and "God's House," a museum located in a tower in the medieval wall. The ultra-modern Sea City Museum celebrates Southampton's seafaring past and the RMS Titanic. Looking for nightlife? Travelers can dance the hours away with bars, clubs, and live music, all accessible by public transportation.

The Tap room for CrackleRock Brewing company. Just across the road from the brewery. With 9 cask ales and 7 keg ales there should be a beer there for you. We also have a huge range of gins and vodkas - and like our beers, wines and spirits are all available as tasting flights if you just can't decide!
A lovely little real ale "tap room", warm and friendly, 4 of their own real ales, can be bought on a "paddle" if required , wines and spirits and lager!! Also available, very pleasant place to visit

This 327-acre wide-open green space in the heart of Southampton is a designated "Site of Special Scientific Interest" and an excellent venue for picnicking, walking and watching wildlife.
How lucky we are that the Council has protected this open space . Best time to walk is early in the morning before the less-careful folks are about. (Covid care)

Consecrated in 1843, this is one of England's earliest municipal cemeteries, and is a well-established stop on the graveyard "hunters" trail.
Easy to access from the common. At first I was disappointed by the state of repair of some of the graves, particularly of those who had died in the war. Perhaps it adds to the atmosphere of the cemetery though. Fascinating to walk around and strangely beautiful.

A beautiful monument inside Southampton, I like the idea of an angel with the wings open. It's really interesting even if remember a famous tragedy.
