Rak Winery

Winery Rak focuses on the production of grapes and wine in Dubrava, near Šibenik, under a specific climate in the Dalmatian area, and we take our pride in the cultivation and production of three autochthonous wine sorts: Babić, Debit and Maraština and from Babić grapes we also produce opolo and rose. Viticulture is long family tradition, which started in 1960-s, and we maintain the tradition today. Honoring the tradition, as our inherited love for vineyards and wines, we use the modern technology and equipment, keeping up with modern standards in the fields of grapevine cultivation and quality wine production. Our family business includes a tasting room, where you can taste our wines and eat homemade culinary specialties! See you in Winery Rak!

We spent several hours exploring this fabulous family business. After great communication,we were picked up by Andros, who drove us first to the vines to explain about when the grapes would be picked. They tasted great! We then went to see the wine cellars, where the wine is fernented and stored. Finally we tasted 6 delicious wines, whilst eating a superb Dalmatian plate consisting of homemade bread, olives, olive oil, cured meat and lovely cheeses. The family are passionate about their business and it shows. The other brother then drove us back to our cruise ship. What a great day.Thank you.

Source of the River Cetina

Reviewed By kristina8d8r - Zagreb, Croatia

Little known natural attraction in the Dalmatian hinterland. In addition to nature, there are two beautiful churches, one of which is a Catholic from the 9th century with a recognizable Croatian plait, and above the spring is an Orthodox church. On the way to the source of Glavas is the church of St. Spasa, one of the most important monuments from the early Middle Ages. It has its roots in the ninth century, from Prince Branimir, and is an example of a building with a facade facing west. It looks mystical and a bit scary, because it is surrounded by a cemetery and hides many secrets and controversies that are still going on today. The source of the river Cetina, although it is more accurate to say the sources, because there are 11 of them, some of which spring only during heavy rains, is located in the village of the same name Cetina, a few kilometers from Vrlika. It is also known as Milaševo vrelo or Glavaševo jezero or vrelo Cetine, and its measured depth is about 130 m, although it is mentioned that a Spanish research team measured a depth of as much as 180 m. Cetina springs at an altitude of 385 meters, on the northwestern slopes of the Dinara We arrived late so the summer of the spring could not be experienced, but in the evening you can see the beautiful colors and crystal clear water around 8 degrees

Filip gave us a warm welcome in his wine tasting room, very nicely decorated. We were lucky enough to be the only ones to be there on the day and have a private session and discussion with him. Such a genuinely passionate person, great stories and explanations about his experiments with his different wines. We recommend the wine tasting with cheeses and olive oil, they definitely match very well together with the amazing wines. We came by bike from Vodice and were very happy with the trip, thank you Filip and for everyone wondering, this is definitely a place worth visiting in the area!

Krcic River

Krcic River has been protected since 1964. Together with Krka River, it forms a unique hydrographic system with an abundance of hydrographic and morphological karst formations. Over its length of about 10 km from its spring to Topoljski slap waterfall (where it drains into Krka River), Krcic River stands out with its deep and picturesque canyon. The end of the canyon is marked by a lovely flexure of geological layers from the Triassic and Jurassic eras, and interesting denuded relief forms.

Channel-Harbour

This locality was protected in 1974. The protected landscape of the Channel-Harbour encompasses the area from the Sibenik Bridge to the end of the Channel of St. Anthony, more precisely to the fortress of St. Nicholas with the accompanying surrounding sea area. No one has yet passed through the Channel of St. Anthony without experiencing awe at this rare sight of beauty. On the Sibenik side, at the start of the channel, stand the rules of old towers erected during the 16th century.

Reviewed By BobandJosie - Reading, United Kingdom

Approaching as we did by sea in a small cruiser you first get a sight of the formidable fortress which stands at the entrance to the narrow channel. Passing interesting rock formations and caves you gradually enter the harbour. All very, very impressive and no wonder would-be attackers failed totally to get in.

Podvrske Beach

Reviewed By denpaa - Zagreb, Croatia

Okay, the logistics for the beach not perfect - the access to the beach is through a small road, parking is a bit problematic (and it's 40 kunas), the food situation is not the best, but the beach itself is well worth it! The surroundings are very nice, no 4 story houses to look at...just the untouched nature. And the water is crystal clear, sooo clean! Those things themselves warrant the perfect score. If you like nature and crystal clear sea, this beach is for you. If you like a nice beach bar and a place to eat, you might not like it so much.
