I’m just awe struck by the handmade textiles. Truely dedicated and skilled Balinese weavers work their craft all day to create a truely beautiful and individually unique piece of cloth. I chose my design of dress & hand woven hand dyed fabric and in a few days I will pick up 2 new 100% linen dresses made for me..... very excited. My daughter loves her bag & linen pants she bought off the rack as she couldn’t wait for a custom made.

Baruna Beach Markets

The Baruna beach markets are on the beach approximately 100mts. left of Jl.Sindhu Pantai. The markets contain about 30 shops plus massage palours and a tattoo shop, the well know shops are Tootsies and her sisters store, we often visit Indahs shop. The ladies at this market6 aren't pushy and a number of the stores are fixed price, however the price for goods is what you would pay after bartering.

Sanur Beach

The Sanur Beach Promenade is lined with brightly painted outrigger boats along the water's edge, and good restaurants and cafes opposite. Treat yourself to a massage offered by one of the many masseuses with divans on the sand. If you're there in July, catch the Bali Kite Festival, a colorful international competition.

Sanur is an excellent choice for those who likes to rise with the sun, enjoy a pristine, calm white sand shore for long walks, quiet meditation, yoga on the beach, close access to organic & hearty foods, early morning great coffees, smoothies & bakeries. Stores & restaurants open into the late evening, but the overall atmosphere is of subtle jubilee and wholesome fun.

This market opens at 6pm, there was a review saying it’s airconditioned, but this is open air market. Has plenty of halal food stalls to chose from. There are satay, fried items like banana, samosa, curry puff, taro. Then there’s bakso, chicken noodles, murtabak, roppongi (has trip advisor certificate of excellence!) smoothies, shaved ice with fruits during my visit. The price is so so so reasonable, I went two nights here. Highly recommend for local halal food.

Sanur Morning Market

Reviewed By GlobalGypsy_13 - San Diego, United States

For fresh food, morning snacks, flower offerings, and lots of local color and photo opportunities, do go to the Sanur Morning Market. Having lived in Indonesia for 15+ years this fresh market is amazingly clean and well-maintained. Only word of caution is be prepared to dodge somewhat overloaded motorcycles that park adjacent to the front entrance. Do venture out to the back area where you can find permanent stalls selling household products (mostly clothes and fabric) and flower vendors on the ground arranging Balinese offerings.
