The Chorotega Arts & Crafts museum is located near the Monte Verde District. The history of the Chorotega Tribe is shared with visitors from around the world on a daily basis. The Chorotega Tribe has used ancient environmentally friendly techniques to create outstanding master pieces for over 4,000 years. These unique and beautiful creations are made on location right at this museum for everyone to see and learn about the Chorotegas. Visitors may join a hands on activity in the heart of the San Rafael community, Guanacaste. Learn, watch and create your own master piece using Chorotega style techniques with Marcelo Oliveira, the expert behind this small museum. Time travel is possible when you visit the Chorotega Arts & Craft exhibit and experience art inspired by nature in a very "old" fashion way.
This place is amazing. Beautiful pottery and with nice prices. He also showed us the process for making pottery. Each piece takes many days to complete. Absolutely must stop here. Don't need 1-2 hours. We were there for 20 minutes.

I recommend to go this trail. It is a very nice day-trip from Drake to the south and back. On one side the Pacific ocean and on the other side the dschungle

We came out to visit this beach and fell in love with it right away. The first thing I noticed was the locals out there surf fishing. We decided to go for a long walk Northman’s we were all alone. We say a flock of vultures on the beach along with a,few monkeys in the trees. There was a lot of bio diversity in a short walk. I can’t wait to go back and visit again. I felt safe on the beach but was forewarned about the thieves that frequent this beach. It’s a shame because I think this is likely the biggest issue hurting business growth here. Swim with a partner as there are riptides.

The Montezuma falls are gorgeous, and easy to reach. A short hike along a pretty good path takes you back to the oasis. The water is deliciously cool and refreshing, especially on a hot day. Definitely worth the trek if you're in Montezuma. I recommend going in the morning - 9-10am, before it gets too hot and filled with people.

Beautiful beach for surfing and relaxing and watching sunset. We were here during dry season so no rain in sight. It did get pretty hot but on those days we just relaxed in the shade. Water was never cold and waves were always perfect.

We stayed in Atenas and bought our produce at the local farmers market on the Friday (runs Fridays 3pm-9pm, Sat all day). The produce was so much fresher than what you would find in the local Maxi Pali. Also, saw a huge difference in produce freshness when staying in Atenas vs coastal in Puntarenas. If you're staying in Atenas, try and check the market out to stock up on your produce. Can't go wrong!

Playa Hermosa was just what we were looking for- a beautiful beach with clean water, soft sand, miles of beach to walk in both directions, tide pools and beautiful sunsets. Lots of surf schools at this beach- so I think it is safer than Santa Teresa beach, and for sure less crowded.
