This UNESCO World Heritage Site was a favorite of Byron, Shelley and D.H. Lawrence. (In fact, if you don’t mind a few rocks, you can swim at one of Byron’s favorite spots, now dubbed Byron’s Cove.) Portovenere’s San Pietro Church was built on the remains of a 6th-century church, which was itself built atop an ancient Roman temple to Venus. Relax and enjoy the boats bobbing in lines on the pretty bay, or daytrip to the Cinqueterre.

Since 1992, in this artistic laboratory we paint by hand the silk and many other woven in natural fibre; we realize the finished product with handicraft method: tissue, arras, foulard, scarf, tie, t-shirt, paréos, bag, fan, etc. Every piece is unique and it is our creations.

Palmaria Island is perfect for trekking, relaxing and swimming. Whatever you decide to do you will always be amazed by the stunning ladscape and view on Portovenere. In summer you can easily relax and swim which is something I usually do mainly on the weekend.

Plenty of restaurants and shops to keep you amused. A lot of people only use this place as a springboard to get to the five villages by boat. I actually enjoyed myself the most in this location although Monterosso was great for pasta!!

The grotto is located very close to the San Pietro Church and in my opinion, hosted better views. You can get quite close up to the sea and walk further along to get multiple perspectives on what is really a wonderful natural creation.
