We were delighted to see that this small promontory was reserved for the public, and we felt it was tastefully designed with a curving "vanishing" walkway leading down to the viewing area where there are teakwood benches facing the sea. The viewing area is romantic, so weddings are held there. The shape of the viewing area suggests the bow of a small boat facing the activity on the beach and channel to the Newport Beach harbor, but we felt that the view to the south was the most captivating because of the shapes of the cliff and rugged rocks in and near the water, especially just before sunset.

Since reading Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat, I have been more mindful of the flavor enhancing and balancing effect of small amounts of acid. This is a small storefront shop with many different vinegars, mainly balsamic, white and dark, accented with different fruits and spices. You are encouraged to taste freely of those that are interesting. The ability to know what you are buying makes the premium price worth while for a premium product. While I put the opening date on both my oil and vinegar bottles I get 6 times as long a shelf life for vinegar and am willing to stock up when I visit. We shipped ours home and they arrived within a week of purchase, expertly packed.

This Park has only been open for a few years. It has a restaurant, playground for children, sailing lessons and a lifeguard in the summertime. I love to swim there in the Bay by the lifeguard station. Paid parking is available as well as handicapped parking. There are restrooms and places to rinse off.

We ya e been visiting the area for years and never knew this existed! Other than parking, the house/display is awesome! There’s even 2 boats in the water with pirates in Them! If you peek over the wall, the outdoor bar has monkeys all over it! Definitely worth a quick stop.

While in Newport Beach we went to the Newport Temple one morning while on vacation. As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, we were able to go inside the temple. But we have come before and just walked the grounds and taken pictures. Beautiful area and view. Sunday meeting house right next to the temple for anyone (you don't have to be a member) that needs a place to go on Sunday morning. I believe the Sacrament meeting started at 9:00 am. Friendly people and peaceful surroundings!

Man-made island that features upscale shops, restaurants and an amusement park.
Went with my family early evening in January. Bring a sweatshirt, enjoy a stroll among quaint shops and restaurants, beautiful boats and homes, and be prepared for the best chocolate-dipped ice cream bar you’ll ever have (the Balboa Bar!). If you are feeling adventurous, you can take the public ferry across to the peninsula (not very far).
