We visited this winery on our Gusto Wine Tour! This is a beautiful family run winery with excellent wines. They were very creative in coming up with unique art for their used wine barrels. We had lunch there which was superb! The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. We are now enjoying a bottle of their le tese (Umbria Bianca) at home.

Wow! After you visit Paolo and his winery, you will leave feeling like family. They take such pride in their work and treat every guest with respect and great care. We visited Paolo just after quarantine ended in Italy. We arranged a tasting and lunch to take away. They organized the entire lunch and had it well packaged when we arrived. They also created a separate menu for a vegetarian couple in the group. We had such a wonderful experience that We will be back this fall (and hopefully many times after that) Everything from the home-cooked meal by his mother, the wine and the olive oil were fantastic and high quality. Thank you Paolo and family. A presto.

Bocale Vini

The philosophy of BocaleThe Valentinis’ family has been linked by history and personal experiences to the City of Montefalco for over one hundred years. The background is the special Umbrian region, full of history and culture, where the act of every farmer is full of folk wisdom, simplicity, passion and sacrifice. The philosophy is influenced by the histories of men working in the fields, surrounded by the hilly landscape of rare beauty, where vines encircle the round forms of the earth.Since 2002, the Valentini family has returned to revitalize this environmental and cultural heritage creating Bocale, a company created to build on that old passion for wine passed down through the generations. Bocale is the dialect term used to indicate the two-liter jug of wine or oil, but, above all, the name by which this Montefalco family has always been known.

Cantina le Cimate

Our winery was realized only in 2011 after 60 years of wine growing expertise, the family has specialized in agriculture since 1800 and owns a total of 170 hectares of land. Three generations of the Bartoloni family have contributed to the construction of the winery; grandfather Paolo who has dedicated his life to agriculture and moreover has always specialised in vine growing; his son Giovanni who had the courage to believe in the investment necessary to realise one of the most modern wineries in the area; and grandson Paolo who with his degree in agricultural studies will dedicate the rest of his life to wine production.

Cantina La Veneranda

Reviewed By F3300PUkarenb

We booked several wine tasting sessions at different vineyards during our stay in Umbria and this was by far the best. When we arrived we were a little apprehensive about what to expect because it appeared to be a very small cantina and we had a bad experience previously at a small winery. But as soon as we were welcomed by Valeria our fears disappeared. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left we felt like one of the family. Valeria spoke excellent English and was very knowledgeable about wine, its production, and all the other products La Veneranda produces. La Veneranda is a small family business owned by Mr Roberto, who is passionate about producing only the best quality wine. We also met his son Riccado and Anna who we think is his wife. They work together to create great wines, cheeses, oils and condiments and provide a tasting experience which surpasses all others. We tasted their white and red wines along with an abundance of different breads, meats, cheeses and condiments, all of which were delicious. We spent three and a half hours here, but could easily have stayed a whole day. They have special events throughout the year so be sure to get in contact with Valeria if you want to know more. The cost of the tasting was €15 per person, but was honestly worth three times this price for the amount of wine and food we received. The wines themselves are very affordable for such good quality €6 to €19 per bottle or a 5 litre box for €12. Amazing! Even if you aren't visiting Montefalco, you must make a special trip to come here. You will not be disappointed. È perfetto!
