Miami is hot hot hot! And it’s not just the sultry weather. Here, the nightlife is scorching, thanks to a strong Latin influence and spicy salsa culture. Dance the noche away in a nightclub, or indulge in a fancy meal at one of the city’s celebrity-owned restaurants. By day, hit the beach of course, or have yourself a walkabout, taking in Miami’s colorful art deco architecture. Grab a Cuban sandwich in Little Havana, then ride the vintage carousel at Virginia Key Beach Park.

The de la Cruz Collection is an art museum at 23 NE 41st Street, Miami, Florida, owned by the Cuban-born American businessman Carlos de la Cruz and his wife Rosa. It houses their art collection and is open to the public free of charge.
I have to admit that I didn't quite know what to expect, but was blown away by this collection. The de la Cruz Collection occupies three floors of galleries in the Miami Design District in a spatious well-lit building designed by the architect John Marquette. The collection is owned by the Cuban-born American businessman Carlos de la Cruz and his wife Rosa and includes a wide range of contemporary works including, as you would expect, work by Cuban artists including Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Jorge Pardo, Wilfredo Lam and Ana Mendieta, but also surprisingly by the Scottish artists Peter Doig and Lucy McKenzie, plus many others from around the world. Well worth visiting - plus have a look at the artistic parking structure across the road. In 2016, ArtNews listed Rosa and Carlos de la Cruz in their worldwide survey of the "Top 200 Collectors".

The day we visited we were fortunate to see numerous birds and alligators. We basically drove the loop and stopped many times along the way. We walked a couple of short hikes into the preserve, as well. The cypress trees with epiphytes were impressive. Bird varieties included snowy egrets, great egrets, great blue herons, and anhingas. How glorious to get away from civilization and enjoy nature.

One of the largest open-air shopping centers in the country, The Falls features over 100 shops and restaurants, with covered walkways surrounded by stunning tropical gardens and ponds.
This mall never gets old. I have been coming for over 17 years and I always have a great time here. With gorgeous landscaping, a vast variety of stores like Macy's, Aeropostale, Brighton, Teavana, Starbucks, and so much more along with many different restaurants and a movie Theater, the falls it's a perfect option to walk around with the family or on a date. It's an open mall with a few benches for the convenience of the visitors. The Falls is a Simon Mall and you can access their free wifi as soon as you are walk-in. During the wintertime, it's decorated beautifully with Christmas lights and they also have Santa for the little ones to take their pictures. Sign up on their website for promotions and events going on.

My favorite park!!! I can go everyday if I lived closer. It has everything you need to have a relax and active time. It has a running path which has different stops for you to do some exercises and they even have signs to tell you what you can do and for how long. It has a playground. It's a dog-friendly park. It's great to take pictures and perfect for picnics. Keep walking and you can see the beautiful coconut grove bay. Right one the parking lot you can find the famous lemonade truck which is very well known for how fresh and good are the lemonades.

A free mass transit automated people mover train system in Miami, with stops at 20 stations.
I've visited 80+ countries on all continents and in NONE of them I saw free public transportation (or at least I don't recall). And what kind of transportation !!! You hover around terrific Miami downtown in a air con skytrain for free. Apart the advanteges for the locals, it's a tourist must see (specially the inner loop) to make terrific elevated pics of Miami.

We finished at Cuba Ocho after a walking tour with Analise - she told us the history and we learnt all about the beautiful artwork. We had our first cocktail there that afternoon and the band was playing! We loved it so much we returned with friends and had an amazing night - the music is just fantastic and watching those that can, Salsa dance. Loved every moment. Don’t hesitate to go - cocktails and wine is very good too and bar staff extremely obliging and friendly! Loved our visits!
