This garden is located in the townland of Ringfinnan, Kinsale, County Cork in the south of Ireland and is dedicated to the memory of the 343 firefighters who lost their live in the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York. This garden of Remembrance was established by Kathleen Murphy in November 2001. Kathleen grew up in Ringfinnan, Kinsale, County Cork which is located in the south of Ireland. Following her training as a nurse in England she moved to New York where she worked as a staff nurse for 40 years in Lennox Hill Hospital. Kathleen always admired the brave and courageous work of firefighters. Following the 9/11 attacks she decided to establish the garden of remembrance in memory to the 343 firefighters who lost their lives on September 11th 2001. Kathleen passed away in March 2011 in New York following a battle with cancer and is buried less than 2 miles from the garden.
Worth a stop and a chance to remember. We forget how the entire globe was afftected by the events in the US on 9/11

Mary! Nobody quite like her! During my time as Regional Sales Manager for Beamish and Crawford in the mainland and based in Newcastle Upon Tyne I had the privilege of many visits to Cork and these visits consisted of not only a tour of the brewery but a visit to beautiful Kinsale and a quick visit to The Tap Tavern and the wonderful Mary. It really was a step back in time with her push button A telephone box and a tour of Tim's forge to the rear. Kinsale is truly a wonderful town and full of so much rich Irish heritage. I do miss it so! Love to everyone there and apologies for not mentioning all of my wonderful friends there. Oh to visit again. Brian Thompson 434 Grace St Newcastle NE62RQ

Daltons Bar is a friendly local establishtment that welcomes all visitors from close and afar. We offer authentic Irish Trad Music during summer week nights and encourage all who are are brave enough to sing along, to do so. Daltons offers a large independant apartment which sleeps four people. This is two floors over the bar and features a king bed on the top floor with extra sleeping space on the first floor. There is a kitchen/dining with seperate sittingroom to relax in. The shower w/c is on the first floor. We are centraly located so shops and restaurants are all close by. bike rentals and walking trails abound.
Simply the pub I loved the most in two months of wandering around Ireland. Little and sober place, it doesn't attract too many tourists or young people, which is just extra points to me. The pub regularly hosts Irish trad sessions, again the best I've been to together with the ones in Doolin. There's a bunch of local guys in their 20s who literally rock. I would go back there even just to hear them playing again! The owners are very friendly and have a good selection of whiskey - go for the RedBreast, they keep it on the high shelf! ;)

Went to Kinsale crystal heard the story about how theirs is the way it use to be, had some shipped home it came on time all prefect. We then went to Waterford and saw the difference, Waterford is not what it once was. We ordered some for Christmas and again it came prefect.
