With no spirits or food on sale (crisps etc available) and no tv, juke boxes, gaming machines or pool tables and definitely no mobile phones, you will be warmly welcomed and joining in conversations almost as soon as you walk through the door. Was out walking my dog, and passed The Heritage along my route. I heard nice music, and chattering, so I looked inside, to see if anyone I knew was in there. The hosts- Melvin & Margaret, immediately invited me inside for a drink, with my boxer dog, Freddy, who absolutely loved all the attention from customers in there, who were all very friendly and welcoming. It’s not often a girl can go somewhere on her own for a drink, and feel comfortable, but I did. I thoroughly enjoyed the unusual drinks on offer, and I think I was a little bit greedy with the spiced cider- which is my favourite. Wonderful, friendly atmosphere, superb service, unusual drinks, a clean toilet, and Margaret even sorted Freddy out with a couple of bowls of water. Brilliant little local business, they do lots of live music here too- well worth popping in.

Happy Halloween to me. Treated myself to a stunning Halloween gin flight before Pizza. Well the gin flight did not dissapoint. A fantastic little selection of gins pared with a lovely fever tree blood orange soda. The zombie blood wasn't to my taste but I'm not a blackcurrant fan but it was horrible, the spiced pumpkin gin was lovely and light but oh my the blood orange gin was fantastic. The garnishes ....... that's a funny story, the orange was perfect, not a liquorice root fan or the star anise. However my other half does ( this is the funny part ), he picked up the whole ( yes the whole ) star anise and popped it in his mouth and crunch. It made my night and I will never let him live it down ???? Now let's move on to the pizzas. I love their cheesy garlic bread, it is to die for, and the pizza bases are super thin and crispy, absolutely lovely and the bacon cheeseburger is epic. I kinda wished they did desserts lol. Staff are fantastic, very knowledgeable, kind and friendly. Really make you feel like a regular. Hats off to you all.

Our little island was the birthplace of U.K. aviation. We also used to be called the Isle of Sheep. With this in mind we themed our Micropub and became The Flying Sheep. We serve real cask ales, spirits and ciders. We are Camra members, and are in the In the Good Beer Guide. We only opened August 2018, so we are really pleased to have been recognised for the quality of our ales in such a short time. Hope you have a great time with us.

St Thomas the Apostle Church is located in the small hamlet of Harty, in the east of the Isle of Sheppey. The quaint church is without electricity, giving the church its period feel! Harty is a wonderful place to visit, so peaceful and far away from the crowds. The church is beautiful and typical of a country church. Check out the famous chest which was stolen by thieves and returned to the church when somebody recognised it at an auction. The chest is unfortunately now behind iron gates to keep it secure but you can still see it. I believe it dates back to the 1600's. There are many walks/trails around Harty where you can take in the bird life and if you fancy something to eat or a drink, the Harty Ferry Inn offers a wide choice and lovely views over the estuary. A perfect place for a walk and a summer drink (obviously when lockdown allows). This is one of my favourite places to visit on the Isle of Sheppey and well worth a visit. If you are lucky to visit in May/June check out the Flower Festival which runs over a weekend and is an ideal place to meet some of the local people and sample some homemade goodies and crafts. They usually have a live band playing, plenty to see and do.

This beautiful church is situated just a few doors up the road to us and we feel exceptionally lucky to have it as a neighbour. With rumoured links to the original Queenborough Castle (the font) and beautifully painted ceiling, connected to Flemish painters and quite unique this church is a must visit. There is a very welcoming good feeling on entering this lovely space which is clearly treasured by the community. Bell ringing happens regularly and it is s delight to hear, very old English village. There are various events throughout the year including tours of the bell tower during Queenborough Independence Day in June each year, flower shows and a wonderful Christmas Tree display in December. Visit around 5ish on the first Sunday in December and follow a wonderful Christmas parade from Rushenden to Queenborough harbour, with marching bands lit with fairy lights and fireworks over the harbour. The church is open at this time to share the Christmas Tree display. Many different trees are displayed each with its own story. There are a number of musical events throughout the year including an annual Gilbert and Sullivan marathon, around May time. The church yard links the two main roads in Queenborough, giving access to both sides of the church and continues over the road where there are Commonwealth graves. The church was featured in the television programme Time Team when they were investigating the footprint of Queenborough Castle. A big thumbs up for accessibility here with a ramped entrance. We got married here in 2018, and all agreed its a very special place.

This is only a park by the sea but is a great place to visit for a picnic and to let the kids run around. There is a cafe and a play area, even camping by prior arrangement. Everyone is so friendly there it's like going back in time. Search what's on at Barton Point. Adjoining the park there is a miniature railway which give rides on the train for £1. It's a great place

We don’t live on the Isle of Sheppey but we have two dogs and like to get out as a family every Sunday for a good long dog walk. A friend of ours suggested here..... SOLD ! Parking is free. The walk is a mixture of beach, pebbles, paths and grass - perfect. The walk takes approx and hour and half and at the end there is small tea hut which is a perfect ending to the walk - especially if it is a little chilly. We have been here a number of times now. Recommend ????

Great place with an amazing selection of ornaments, planters and features to suit all pockets. They also sell paint for your purchases. Difficult not to buy something. So much to choose from!
