This place is located in Iduki district and the boarder of kottayam. Still untouched by commercialisation, the sleepy town is surrounded by valleys, green meadows, pine forests, mists, fogs, tea estates, waterfalls and overall greenery. The landscape is mostly hilly bald with green meadows. Vagamon is also home to a variety of flowers and orchids. Three hills - Thangal, Murugan and kurisumala.I have visited vagamon in the last year may with my four friends.

Kurushumala hills is a Christian pilgrimage center in Vagamon. Apart fro that, this is also an excellent trekking site in Vagamon. The hike starts at Kallillakavala (Kurisumala base). As you trek up, there are 14 crosses (known as 'Way of the cross') at regular intervals on the hill. There is a small church on top. The trek is a bit hard and is not for those with health problems. But the view form the top is unbeatable. The cool breeze atop will take away all the tiredness. Near the hills there is an ashram, home of Christian monks and a dairy farm managed by the monks. The place is frequented by tourists all through the year. On Good Friday and Easter season many followers do the trek up Kurusumala carrying wooden cross as a pilgrimage.

A Muslim pilgrim center in Vagamon, Thangalpara is the 'Dargah' or the final resting place of the Sufi saint Hasrat Sheikh Fariduddin Baba, who reached Kerala 800 years ago. The bottom of the rock has a masjid. One can visit the saint's tomb. Thangalpara is also an excellent trekking destination, and is approximately 400 foot high trekking. An average healthy person can easily trek up. The views from the top is worth the pain. Entrance is free. The place opens up at 8.00 am for visitors.

First experience of touching the base of a windmill and hearing the sound of the turbine mounted on a hill top. The drive is nearly upto the top and then one needs to walk a 30deg climb for say 200m and then we see Tamil Nadu villages deep down below and also some other windmill turbines far away in then plane. Western Ghats separate the two states in fact the windmill is on Tamil Nadu land instead of Kerala. Good Photo shoot , picnic and fresh air view and any hill top is a always full of wind, so enjoy nature Ima green environment surrounded by hills , windmills and deep down planes. I am sure there are trekking routes here but did not attempt
