We saw Setia Darma House of Mask and Puppets recommended in a guide book and put it on our list while in Ubud. First, adjacent to the parking lot, you'll see a small gift shop, selling authentic Balinese masks, shadow puppets, and jewelry. We liked this, but is was rather underwhelming and we sighed. We thought there would be more. Well, keep walking! You WILL find more! On the other side of a park-like green space you will find a museum housed in four buildings (at least). The masks range from tiny to huge, multi-person varieties, meant to be worn during annual festivals and such. The masks came in every size, shape and facial expression. WOW! We went from being underwhelmed to overwhelmed! You will marvel at the shadow puppet collection and the intricate artistry and craftsmanship on display. How could we be the only visitors there? Spent so much time browsing and reading all the cards (English included) that our guide must have wondered where we went. Well designed, well planned, lots of space to walk and admire. What a find! Do not miss this hidden treasure, just a short distance from the Elephant Cave (which was a let down). ENJOY!

We had an extensive visit in Wayan Gama's family compound and a wonderful exposure to Keliki style drawing. He and his family run a great school, with locals as well as tourists participating. If you want to learn more about Balinese art, you must visit. Not far from Ubud, set in the little village of Keliki.

Definitely worth going to. The temple itself on the hill with baths and pond full of fish below it. Everything looks authentic and old. There's no entrance fee, but the representatives of the temple who meet you at the entrance ask for a donation. You can leave any amount. They provide you with a sarong for free. There are two sections for bathing - one with a Waterfall for men and the other simpler one for women. Discrimination, I know. There are changing rooms. The water is transparent and refreshing.

Pura Gunung Lebah is in 1.5Km from Ubud market to the west. It is in the joined valley in Cerik river and Wos river while it faces Tjampihan. Gunung Lebah mean "bee hill" in an Indonesian language. This temple is very quietly. Pura Gunung Lebah is a temple that became Ubud birthplace with the history.

The Campuhan Ridge Walk is arguably the best known Ubud trek and with good reason. The sparse crowds and the aesthetically rich vistas remind one of why people from around the world come to Bali. The trail starts at the historical origin of Ubud, the confluence (or Campuhan) of the Wos Rivers.
Although not often mentioned in travel guides, The Ridge walk was, for us, the most memorable part of exploring Ubud. A long walk through the rice fields, with magnificent sceneries, rice fields, and quiet villages was such a great escape from hustle and bustle of the Ubud city center. The day we have visited wasn't overly hot and in fact, we had a heavy shower along the way which was actually really nice and romantic. We stopped in Karsa cafe for an organic juice and one more spectacular and tranquil view on lotus-filled pond and rice fields. If you feel like it, massage service is available too. Don't forget a good pair of shoes and umbrella! A fantastic day we will remember forever!

Bali Pulina is a coffee plantation, where we can learn how to make the most unique coffee of the world. we can also see other different types of plant and trees like cocoa , coffee, coconut, and also rice terrace paddy as the view that we enjoy during drinking the coffee. Rather that it, we could also play the game as Giant Swing tree, Zip line, and swimming pool right in the middle of jungle. we also available the photo spot for you who like to take you selfie picture.
What can I say you get to taste from lovely coffee for free, you get to have a go at roasting the coffee beans and crushing them and the views are stunning, and the people are amazing.

We stopped by here on our drivers recommendation to try the famous Luwak Coffee. We saw a couple other plantations during the week and this one was our favourite. Great selection of coffees and also fresh fruit available from a separate seller on site. Nice setting and the guy who took us through the small plantation was very friendly and informative explaining the process and coffee and tea fusions.

We recently bought 2 paintings from here. We originally saw one painting at a gallery in downtown Ubud, then decided to pop into this place to compare what we wanted. Thank god we did, the downtown gallery was charging nearly double for the same artist's (different but similar) painting. The funds from your purchase here go to the collective of over 150 artists, we got 2 really special pieces of art instead of one since the variety and selection was so vast, for less than the price of the 1 we found downtown, what's not to love about that?! They made it easy to transport back to Canada, the whole transaction was smooth and everyone walked away happy. I'd highly recommend Semar Kuning even just for a visit, but if you're looking for some special art to take home this place is absolutely worth a visit.
