Capri is pure romance—dramatic views, the bluest ocean you’ve ever seen, even the scent of lemon blossoms in the air. The luminescent Blue Grotto, striking Faraglioni Rocks and the Palazzo al Mare are popular with travelers, but for a real treat, snorkel at Marina Piccola beach. It’s said to be the spot where Odysseus nearly succumbed to the Sirens’ song… a fitting legend for this alluring island.

As my sister and I was walking up to Villa Jovis we came across an old man at a gate telling us to come in and see the views. It was well worth it there were so many different viewpoints and some steps to amazing views. The old man had asked us to leave a tip in a tray if we could which was fine because he was so friendly and had bottles of water for anyone who needed them. I would definitely recommend dropping in on the way to Villa Jovis and leaving a small tip for the man as he is a volunteer in his 80's who supplies bottles of water.

The story goes that in 1948, the Prior of the Monastery discovered the old formulas of perfumes, licensed from the Pope revealed to a chemical Torino, who created the smallest laboratory of the world and called it "Carthusia" ie "Certosa". Today the tradition is perpetuated, the limited production methods are the same ones used by the Carthusian monks, all preparations are made from natural raw materials of high quality and even the finished product is hand-wrapped. The essence derived from rosemary picked on Monte Solaro befitting to man, while the wild pink Capri is the basis of feminine products.
well if you are an avid shopper like me, you would be tempted to buy stuffs and along the Shopping Alleys in the Vicinity of the Piazzetta and while going to the famous Giardino Di Augustino to have a wonderful view of the Faraglioni Rocks, we happen to see a rather nice perfumery along the street of Via Matteotti (they have other branches in Capri and around the Bay of Naples area) called Carthusia Profumi Di Capri, which is an artisanal perfumerie established more than 200 years ago. The outlet is one of their factories that produces artisanal perfumes, bath soaps, fragrances, oils, essense and a lot more. they have a wide variety of perfumes, eau de colognes, eau de toilette, bath accessories, oils, frangrances and even lemon inspired fragrances and bath items as well. I bought a 75 ml of Sfusato Lemon inspired Eau De Cologne at 55 euros. Opens: 9:00 am to 8:00 pm everyday

Great lookout in the front of the hotel. Can be busy but who is in a hurry over here? It’s the start of the walking path to the restaurant on the shore and the beach club. Recommended

From the villa Jovis, we hiked to the famous Arco naturale, which is an elegant arch of 18 meters high and 12 meters wide. This beautiful arch is carved into the white limestone rock, resulting from geological erosion. We saw that the arch hanged over the sea, providing wonderful panoramic views over the Gulf of Naples. Then, we went down to the Grotte di Matromania; our guide explained us that this natural cave was transformed in Roman times into a luxurious nymphaeum, that has disappeared. Altogether, I highly recommend to hike the fantastic Arco naturale!!! It’s a peaceful paradise.

I came here on a quick 1/2 day trip by boat on my first day in the area. I was blown away by the pieces in the shop. So unique and so beautiful. I didn't have much time so I bought a small piece that I thought was really unique and thought I would see similar things in shops in Positano and other places on the coast. Was I wrong! No other shop including the ceramic factories had pieces that were so elegant and beautiful. I was hoping that I could buy more pieces on line from home but that also does not appear to me the case. I am very sad! Dont miss this shop and buy when you are there!
