Lingering over pain au chocolat in a sidewalk café, relaxing after a day of strolling along the Seine and marveling at icons like the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe… the perfect Paris experience combines leisure and liveliness with enough time to savor both an exquisite meal and exhibits at the Louvre. Awaken your spirit at Notre Dame, bargain hunt at the Marché aux Puces de Montreuil or for goodies at the Marché Biologique Raspail, then cap it all off with a risqué show at the Moulin Rouge.

A huge bronze statue of St Michael battling the devil in form of dragon is really very nice sculpture. 2 dragons on 2 columns serve as fountains. Sit right next to it to be refreshed!

We stumbled across this square (capitan) and fountain of the same name, looking for the entrance to arenas of Lutèce, (thanks to google), which is quite difficult as it is surrounded by buildings. The fountain (a decapitated nymph lying in a niche) located under a grand staircase actually looks out of place. The sqaure and fountain is dedicated to Louis Capitan (1854-1929) who was responsible for the restoration of the arenas of Lutèce (see review). Which is literally a hidden gem of Paris.

You will find the wallace fountains everywhere in Paris, however as it turns out this wall fountain (on rue Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire) is the only one left today, we just happened to stumble on it.
