I am a professional, landscape photographer and have published several views of Badby Woods as greeting cards! Obviously spring is THE time to visit but this elevated woodland is fantastic all year. The views over nearby Badby Village and the surrounding countryside are breath-taking. It represents a large area with many circular walks possible. Close by are the ruins of "The Dower House", a Tudor manor (fenced off but free to view).

Obviously, for a wood famous for its bluebells spring is THE time! However, with ample free parking onsite and being in such a lovely situation, this natural woodland is delightful throughout the year and is great for dog-walkers and families with children alike.

There are no toilets, cafes, or any particular facilities past a smallish car park and trails. If you want more go to Fineshades which is very close, much bigger and ready to meet more extensive needs. So Wakerley Woods. I would say it's pretty good for walking etc as it's pretty quiet. I have seen innumerable squirrels, a very occasional and even a woodpecker tapping away. I though use Wakerley as a easy spot for some MTB cycling. There are a few tricky zones, particularly when it's wet, but it's good fun. Nothing too demanding but definitely gets your blood pumping. Best spot I have found locally.
