You can eat very well—and very cheaply—in Taipei. The restaurants may not look posh, but the quality of the food is superlative. And there’s a huge variety of restaurants—in addition to local Taiwanese specialties, you’ll find regional cuisines from all over China, as well as great Indian, Japanese and even Italian options. Just make sure to leave some room for snacks—street-vendor food here is addictive.

Discover the Zen of Taipei! We'll start at the top, literally, with a high-altitude view of everything from the observatory of Taipei 101. You'll have ample time to both learn about the building itself and take in the gorgeous views of your surroundings. Afterward, we'll head downstairs for a leisurely lunch at Michelin rated Din Tai Fung, where you'll eat your fill of the restaurant's world famous xiao long bao (soup dumplings). After lunch, we'll take you to the geothermic Beitou district, home to Taipei's best Japanese style bath houses, first used as centers of entertainment and leisure by Japanese colonial officials then kamikaze pilots on the night before their final missions. You'll soak in the area's healing waters for an hour before being brought back to your accommodation. Please note that soaking in hot springs isn't recommended for pregnant women, people with heart conditions or other serious medical conditions.
Inclusions: Hotel pickup and drop-off, 1 hour private hot spring bath house (2 persons per room), Lunch with special menu at Din Tai Fung, Travel insurance, Admission to Taipei 101 observatory fast pass

Taiwan is a small island with lots to see. Many people would be inclined to hire a car and drive themselves, but this is not always a good idea in Taiwan. Taiwan is mountainous, it's topography is rarely easy to follow. Therefore, arranging a tour is worth considering. You can consult the friendly people at My Taiwan Tour Travel Services directly or arrange your own itinerary on-line

Our party of 5 traveled to Taipei in November and we went on a 4 day private tour with Justaiwan Tour. I worked with Max to plan the trip and he was extremely patient in answering all my questions and worked with me to modify my itiniaries. Warren was our tour guide and he was very accommodating, going out of his way to make sure that we had a good time. He was even willing to adjust his work hours and worked longer on certain days so that we can keep up with our itineraries. The tour company and Warren were very responsive; they made us feel like we had a family in Taipei who's always watching out for us to make sure that we are safe and have a great time. I reccomended the tour company to all my family and friends and will definitely contact them again when I return to Taiwan.

Our tour guide Gina did a great job showing us Dadaocheng! She was able to seamlessly juggle between addressing the Canadian guests in English as well as my parents, who spoke Mandarin. While we had been to Dadaocheng several times before, it was always brief and singleminded, with the purpose to buy or eat something. This was the first time we had a leisurely stroll through the area, and Gina shared many interesting details about the architecture as well as led us to explore new shops that we would have never thought to visit. Was a great time facilitated by a great guide!

We arrived a bit early and June was waiting for us. She started with the Longshan Temple and explained what was going on, the local religions and worship, very interesting. We moved on to the traditional medicine area and tried some teas. We also had a look at the preserved old shops. June was cheerful and pleasant and knowledgeable. She ordered some local buns for us to finish with which were delicious. Family of five from Australia.
