The winery tour begins with a drive along one of the most beautiful and ancient roads of Tuscany along the city of Sienna, with its sweet and enchanting hills. Once in the area, you will visit the historic village of Montalcino, and proceed with a guided tour and wine tasting (3 wines paired with local grissini) of a small producer in Brunello. Visit the cellars and learn something about the origin and production of this world renowned wine. Taste the wine in evolution straight from the barrel. You will then enjoy a typical Tuscan lunch, during which you will drink DOCG Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino DOC. You will visit the vineyards and enjoy the anecdotes and “stories” on viticulture and production narrated by the wine maker. In the afternoon, you will go to another wine producer of the Val d’Orcia and Chianti region, where you can taste the Tuscan extra virgin olive oil, and 3 wines-tasting paired with local grissini. We are in the heart of Famous and traditional Chianti hills with breathtaking views. We are only 18 km from Florence, Fattoria Lavacchio, practice Organic and Biodinamic agriculture in whole estate. Visit the unique wind mill designed by LEONARDO DA VINCI, renovated to produce the flour of the Estate and the unique sensation to come back to 2 centuries ago. The tour includes a walk in the olive groves, a little introduction to the Tuscan olive oil traditions and a guided tour of the wind mill as well as an historical background of the wind mill, it’s renovation and technical explanations of how it works. To finish off, there is a course on olive oil tasting where you will learn the characteristics of good extra virgin olive oil. Wheelchair is not accessible only on the second floor in the wind mill, but all the rest of activity is no problem. Driver from Florence city and back not included in the price.
