November 24, 2021 Viva Honore

The crown jewels, Buckingham Palace, Camden Market…in London, history collides with art, fashion, food, and good British ale. A perfect day is different for everyone: culture aficionados shouldn't miss the Tate Modern and the Royal Opera House. If you love fashion, Oxford Street has shopping galore. For foodies, cream tea at Harrod’s or crispy fish from a proper chippy offers classic London flavor. Music and book buffs will love seeing Abbey Road and the Sherlock Holmes Museum (at 221B Baker Street, of course).

Fourpure Brewing Co.

Open Tuesday to Sunday from midday (11 am on Saturdays), our Taproom is located within our brewery site in Bermondsey, South East London. As you wander into the industrial style bar you find yourself right in the heart of the action, confronted with the delightful aroma of hops, malt, and freshly brewed wort. This is all in the heart of our brewery, located next to South Bermondsey rail station (one stop from London Bridge), a short walk from Bermondsey (Jubilee Underground) or Surrey Quays (London Overground). We also offer London's leading beer education and tasting tour which includes a guided tasting from one of our resident beer experts and a tour of our state of the art brewery and packaging line.

We had a large family/friends group (23 of us!) of mixed ages from 23-60 for a bottomless brunch last Sunday and it was a fantastic experience! The space is huge and we had the whole mezzanine level to ourselves. The brunch is reasonably priced at £30pp which includes a giant hot dog or burger from OHMYDOG! The food was great and they turned it out so quickly for all of us. You also get unlimited 2/3 pints for 90mins and Rob and the team were extremely laid back with this and allowed us to have a Selection of any beer from their range. They made it a lot easier by bringing jugs of beer up for us too which meant we never ran out! We were loud and very boozy- dancing on the benches and tables (but hopefully not disrespectful and nothing got broken!) and all the staff were great- turned up the music and took all of our song requests. Would definitely recommend for a large group and we will definitely be back!

The Ginstitute

The Ginstitute provides a unique and unrivalled opportunity to better understand the true spirit of London. Patrons begin their spirituous journey in the UK's second smallest museum - The Ginstitute. Our Gin Instructor will take you through the long and frequently miserable, history of gin. From the drink's origin as a medicine, through the gin craze that gripped Britain for 200 years and onto the Golden Era of gin as a cocktail ingredient and finally how gin has taken it's position in the modern world. Once the History lesson is over, it's time to head upstairs to The Still Room, where Ginterns will test their senses with a tutored tasting and nosing of the key botanical ingredients of London Dry Gin, ready to create their own bespoke one-of-a-kind, unique and hopefully delicious gin. To mark their graduation, students will be presented with a full-size bottle of their own personal blend, the recipe for which will be kept on file for you to reorder as often as you need! Sessions need to be booked in advance.

As a founding member of the distillery, I had been invited for a tour and tasting with a few of my friends. We spent three fantastic hours at the distillery. First we were offered a welcome cocktail with one of the distillery's whiskies, and then we were shown around the small but very well organised production, where everything is done under one roof. We saw the direct-fired pot stills, tasted some new make running out of them, had a look at the blender's corner, and explored the warehouse. Our guide Lucas told us everything about the distillery and the process of making their whisky. During the tasting session we were offered a few samples (new make, virgin oak, re-charred, bourbon, sherry, port and even a dram straight from their experimental Laphroaig cask) and found them quite outstanding for such an early age. We believe in great future of this distillery and will look forward to their oncoming releases. Well done, guys!

I booked this gin experience for my Partner's birthday and we loved every minute of it. The venue is very cool and the whole experience was fantastic from start to finish!! It was great learning about the history of gin, I learnt so much in the short space of time. All of the drinks that you get to try are delicious (yup. I was slightly tipsy at the end). I really enjoyed the whole process from choosing our own herbs & spices to create our own unique flavour, to measuring, and then distilling the gin yourself. Its worth mentioning that with the current situation, there Covid-19 measures in place so we felt safe the whole time. There's even 58Gin branded hand sanitiser as they started making hand sanitiser during lockdown. 10/10! So if you fancy doing something a bit different in London, I definitely recommend this experience :)

Roberson Wine

Welcome to central London’s first winery. Tucked away in a little alleyway in SW6 is London Cru Winery, a fully-functioning, state of the art, urban winery. We make wine using grapes from different parts of the UK and are passionate about showing off the incredible fruit that comes from our shores. Our philosophy is simple; we use the best grapes we can find to craft wines made in small batches with a minimum of intervention. Our wines have won multiple awards and can be found on the wine lists of some of the most prestigious restaurants in the capital. Come to one of our regular tours or winemaking experiences, or visit us at one of our famous tastings and bespoke private events. If you are interested in learning more about wine, we even offer wine education courses where you can learn more about the winemaking process in a working winery. Book a visit to the winery for a truly unique wine experience without having to leave London.

I was gifted a wine tasting at this London urban winery and as a London resident was surprised that a winery existed in Fulham! We had a great couple of hours here, learning about how the winery came into being, what wines they produce and more importantly tasting the wines they produce. The proof was in the tasting as we walked out very happy with several bottles of their fine wines.

If you're ever in London, make sure you visit the distillery. The experience is exceptional right from the warm welcome at reception, throughout the self guided museum at the start and then onto the guided tour of the distillery itself with samples and fknally ending with a refreshing Gin & Tonic. Our host Katie, certainly knew her Gin & Tonics and was informative and most interesting throughout the tour. There is of course a shop on site but with absolutely no pressure to buy. Well Done, well worth a visit
