Monte Reale belongs to Valdecir Mioranza’s family, originally from Valle del Mis, Sospirolo, Italy. In the 19th century, Pietro Mioranza leaved for America. In 1884 he arrived at Colonia Caxias to a place he baptized as New Venice. From Italy Pietro had brought some seedlings of vines, the seed of the wine-growing tradition. In 1972 Valdecir Mioranza, his great-grandson, along with six friends founded Monte Reale Winery. In 1993, Valdecir took control of the winery and from then began to invest in technology, in order to produce high quality wines. From 1999 began a project of restructuring the place and the wines. Valdecir Mioranza was able to preserve more than seven centuries of tradition, which resulted in the high quality wines and excellence of the Valdemiz and Monte Reale brands. Since 2017, in addition to the fine wines Monte Reale has in its heart a brewery, Alem Bier, which already holds medals and awards for the excellent beers.
